I often read this poem to clients when the therapy feels hard, they feel stuck, or feel that they keep making the same mistakes.
It can take time to learn new ways of being.
I remind them to talk to themselves kindly.

I am so excited that I will be working in The Blue Hare Therapies on a Tuesday and Wednesday. Based in the heart of Jesmond it's a great location and the premises are fantastic. I am really looking forward to getting started. Taking new clients now.

I had a lovely morning at West Jesmond Primary School's Health Careers Fair. I was talking about what I Psychotherapeutic Counsellor does. Thanks for having me, the puplis asked some interesting questions and were a credit to the school.

Open water swimming for me feels like therapy:
The hardest part is stepping into the cold.

It's uncomfortable and intense at first, but if you stay with it the discomfort passes. You will be rewarded with clarity, calmness, and a powerful sense of wellbeing.

I had a lovely time yesterday, at the Therapy Network North East networking event. The speaker was Lorna Evans talking about her book ‘The Mind Movement’, which I can’t wait to read. It was also a great opportunity to meet other therapists and share ideas. Thanks to Kate and Louise for organising the morning. Looking forward to the next event in September.
