The more hearts that gather, the stronger our prayer. If this speaks to you, please share this invitation with those who love Scotland and the wild places that have shaped us.
The Cairngorms are burning, and like so many of you, I have felt utterly helpless watching one of Scotland’s oldest and most sacred landscapes disappear before our eyes.
The ancient Caledonian Forest is more than a collection of trees. It is an ecosystem that has stood for thousands of years, a refuge for wildlife, a keeper of memory, and a living part of the soul of this land.
This is a plea to my fellow shamanic practitioners, earthkeepers, druids, witches, healers, animists and anyone who feels a deep love for Scotland to join me in holding a vigil for the Cairngorms.
At 11.11 am UK time, tomorrow, wherever you are in the world, I invite you to pause for twenty one minutes.
Journey to the spirit of the land if that is part of your practice, or simply sit in quiet prayer and hold the Cairngorms in your heart.
Pray for the wildlife whose homes have been lost, for the ancient forest, for the rivers, for the soil, for the winds, and ask that the land receives whatever she most needs in this moment, for her highest good.
For those who are trained in psychopomp work and feel genuinely called to it, you may also wish to offer your service to any creatures whose spirits are ready to be guided with love and reverence.
This is not about believing that we alone can change the weather or extinguish a fire. It is about refusing to stand by in silence when a place we love is suffering and remembering that, for thousands of years, our ancestors turned towards the land in times of crisis, not away from her.
There is something profoundly powerful about hundreds of people directing their love, their prayers and their intention towards the same place at the same moment. Whether you drum, journey, pray, meditate or simply stand beneath the morning sky with the Cairngorms in your heart, your presence matters.
If you feel called to stand with us, please send me a DM or comment, Alba.
Let us become a loving circle around the Cairngorms and remind the land that she is so so loved.
