🎨🌼 Art Workshop & Exhibition at St Olaf Care Home 🌼🎨

Residents and families at St Olaf Care Home enjoyed a truly wonderful time taking part in an art workshop and exhibition as part of the Nairn Book and Arts Festival. With guidance from Karrie from The Laughing Geese, and support from Chris and Alison, everyone created meaningful and expressive pieces that were full of colour, creativity and personal stories. 💛✨

Our residents also loved visiting the Nairn Community & Arts Centre to see their artwork proudly displayed. A huge thank you to Wheels in Nairnshire for transporting everyone safely to and from the venue — your support made the whole experience possible. 🚐💙

We were delighted to welcome Rosie and Ruby from the High Life Highland Leadership Programme, who spent time enjoying the exhibition and chatting with residents. It’s lovely to see how intergenerational friendships continue to grow through moments like these. 🌼

Thank you to everyone who helped make this experience so special, uplifting and exciting. We are incredibly lucky to be part of such a supportive and creative community. 💛

Here’s what’s happening this week:

🧘 DanceSing Yoga & Singing — a bright and uplifting way to kick off the week, bringing gentle movement, rhythm and plenty of smiles.
🎙️ Sunday Sing‑Along & Virtual Church Service — a warm and reflective end to the week, with favourite songs and meaningful moments shared together.

A lovely mix of creativity, connection and community spirit — just the way we like it at St Olaf. 🌼

🌼👶 A Heart‑Warming Baby & Toddler Group at St Olaf 👶🌼

Our much‑loved Baby & Toddler Group, run by the lovely Mairianne from Inverness Family Centre, has officially restarted after the summer break — and what a joyful return it’s been. 💛✨

A huge thank you to all the mums who came along with their little ones. Your visits mean so much to our residents, bringing warmth, laughter and those precious intergenerational moments we treasure. If you know anyone else who might enjoy joining us, please do let them know — the group runs every Wednesday morning here at St Olaf. 🌼

It’s wonderful to see intergenerational friendships blossoming once again: little ones exploring, residents beaming with happiness, and everyone sharing those uplifting moments that brighten the whole home. These sessions remind us just how special community connections can be. 👶💛

Whether it’s families popping in for a friendly chat, friends visiting with warm smiles, pets bringing comfort and companionship, or residents taking part in activities together, these moments of connection mean the world. They bring happiness, friendship and a wonderful sense of togetherness throughout the home. 🐾

Residents at St Olaf Care Home enjoyed a lively and heart‑warming Country Music Afternoon, filled with singing, smiling, tapping feet and even a bit of dancing thanks to Dave and Tony from Musical Rhythm. 🎶🤠💛

It was a wonderful session of togetherness and good times, with residents joining in, sharing memories and enjoying the warm, familiar sound of country classics. A special moment was taken to pay respects to Dolly Parton, everyone’s favourite country singer, who recently passed away — her music brought comfort, connection and a gentle sense of reflection.

The afternoon continued with songs from other much‑loved country artists, including Daniel O’Donnell, which were enjoyed by all and sparked plenty of smiles. 🌼✨

We’re already looking forward to the next concert on 22 October, when a fantastic Ukulele group from Inverness will be joining us. If you have any song requests, please let us know — we’d love to pass them on. 🎵💛

We’ve got another exciting week lined up at St Olaf, with plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. 💛✨

Come and sing with our intergenerational choir, a heart‑warming favourite that always fills the home with music, smiles and connection. 🎶😊

Or join us to feed and pet the pony, a gentle visit that brings joy to residents and families alike. 🐴❤️

We’re also hosting our new autumn menu tasting — Come Dine With Us! — where residents can sample seasonal dishes and share their thoughts. 🍂🍽️

All are welcome to take part in the fun, friendship and community spirit that make St Olaf so special. 🌼

Residents at St Olaf Care Home were treated to a wonderful visit from the Nairn Drama Club, who brought local tales, legends and a touch of theatre magic to the home. 🎭💛

The storytellers shared captivating stories inspired by local places and landmarks, giving residents and family members a chance to reminisce and learn interesting bits of history about the area. It was an especially meaningful afternoon for those who had previously been involved in drama clubs or had visited the Nairn Little Theatre, where the group’s popular Christmas pantomimes always sell out.

After their performance, members of the Drama Club spent time chatting with residents, answering questions about their costumes, the club itself and the stories they shared. This warm interaction made the visit even more special, and our residents were truly appreciative. 🌼✨

A heartfelt thank you to Richard, Karen and Alice for coming along and making the day memorable for everyone.

Everyone at St Olaf Care Home came together to say a warm and heartfelt farewell to our amazing colleague, Brian, as he prepares to move on to pastures new within Meallmore — joining the team at Bellaire Care Home in Greenock. 💛✨

Bellaire are certainly lucky to have him; Brian’s kindness, humour and dedication have made such a positive impact here at St Olaf. We’ve suggested they keep an eye on their pens too… as Brian is well‑known for “borrowing” them with a smile! 😉🖊️

We wish him every success in this next chapter and thank him for helping make St Olaf Care Home such a wonderful place to live and work. A fond farewell from us all. 🌼

Residents at St Olaf Care Home enjoyed a wonderfully calming and creative flower‑arranging session, thanks to the generous donation of fresh blooms from Sainsbury’s community champion, Joanne. 🌸💛

Her kindness meant so much to everyone, especially to those residents who had attended floral art classes in years gone by. The beautiful flowers brought back lovely memories and sparked warm conversations as residents chatted, reminisced and carefully created their arrangements.

It was a gentle, joyful activity — and a reminder of how special it is to be part of such a caring, thoughtful community. 🌼✨

🎉✨ Another Fantastic Week Ahead at St Olaf! ✨🎉

There’s plenty to look forward to at St Olaf Care Home this week, with a wonderful mix of entertainment, creativity, outings and social activities for our residents to enjoy 💛😊

🐴 We're delighted to welcome back our favourite Shetland pony, Jacey, for another special visit.

🎶 We'll be tapping our toes at a Country Music Concert with Musical Rhythm, followed by an inspiring Art Workshop with Karrie Marshall as part of the Nairn Book and Art Festival 🎨🖌️

🖼️ We're also heading out to the Nairn Community and Arts Centre to see some of our very own artwork proudly displayed. What a fantastic achievement! 🌟
