It’s been a busy week of readings and connection, and I’m always grateful when a client takes the time to leave such a heartfelt review.
Thank you, Donna. 🙏

THE MASKS WE WEAR

We all wear masks at different times in our lives, often without even realising we're doing it.

Sometimes we create them because we want to fit in, to be accepted or loved. We become who we think other people want us to be, perhaps because somewhere underneath there's a fear that who we really are isn't enough.

But I've also seen another kind of mask.

The person who appears happy, confident and completely fine on the outside, while underneath they're carrying an enormous amount of pain.

Sometimes that comes from difficult experiences. Sometimes from hurt that has never really been expressed or healed. And sometimes there's a much deeper struggle with self-worth and loving themselves.

Through my work with clients, I've often intuitively felt that difference.

Someone can be smiling, laughing and telling me they're fine, yet energetically I can feel something very different underneath. And as we begin talking and gently exploring what's really going on, another part of them starts to emerge.

The part that's tired.

The part that's hurting.

The part that's been holding everything together for everyone else.

The part that perhaps hasn't felt able to say, actually, I'm not okay.

And I don't see those masks as something to judge.

Very often they've been protection.

They've helped us cope, function, belong or get through periods of our lives when being completely open or vulnerable didn't feel safe.

But there can come a time when the mask that once protected us begins to disconnect us from ourselves.

Authenticity isn't about telling everyone everything or exposing our vulnerabilities to people who haven't earned our trust. We can be authentic and still have healthy boundaries.

It's about being honest with ourselves.

Recognising what we're really feeling.
Knowing who we are beneath everything we've learned to present to the world.
And gradually becoming comfortable enough within ourselves that we don't have to keep pretending to be someone we're not.

Perhaps the deeper question is not simply:

What mask am I wearing?

But...

What is that mask protecting — and what might I find underneath if I finally felt safe enough to take it off?

When we lose someone we love, we don’t only remember them on birthdays, anniversaries or the day they passed. They become part of our everyday thoughts and our lives in a different way.

And through my work as a medium, I’m constantly reminded that the connection doesn’t simply end when someone leaves the physical world.

Time and time again in readings, I witness just how aware our loved ones are of what is happening in our lives. The changes we’re going through, the things we worry about, the happy moments and the times when we’re struggling. I also see how much they still want to help, encourage and support those they love here in the physical world.

I think this is one of the most comforting parts of the work I do. To witness someone realise that the person they love is still very much aware of them and their life, and that the love and support they shared hasn’t simply disappeared.

There can be something incredibly reassuring in knowing that although we can no longer have that person beside us physically, the connection remains. The love, encouragement and support can still be felt in a different way.

We don’t need a special day to remember those we love. They remain part of our everyday lives... and from what I’m privileged to witness through my work, we remain very much a part of theirs too.

THE HEART IS KING ❤️

I was shown this during deep meditation....

We can spend so much time caught up in our emotions.

Anger. Fear. Anxiety. Frustration. Hurt.

And of course our emotions need to be felt. They can show us where something has been triggered and sometimes where something deeper still needs our attention.

But there is a difference between feeling an emotion and continually feeding it.

We can replay the conversation. Analyse why somebody said what they said. Question why we reacted. Go over the story again and again... and before we know it, we're keeping ourselves in the very energy we're trying to release.

Not every emotion needs to become another story.

Sometimes we can simply notice it.

Feel it.
Breathe.
Allow it to move through us.
And come back to ourselves.

Healing isn't about never feeling anger, fear or frustration again. It's about learning not to let those emotions take us away from our centre.

The mind will always want to analyse, understand and find an answer.

But sometimes the answer isn't found by thinking harder.

It's found by coming back into the present moment.

Back to ourselves.
Back to love.
Back to the heart.

The mind may make the most noise…
but the Heart is King. ❤️

I saw this image today and, although I wouldn't have used the phrase "whack energy", the message behind it really resonated with me.

Whether in healing, relationships, family or friendships, one of the greatest lessons is learning the difference between compassion and absorption.

Many of us have spent years carrying other people's emotions, worries, expectations and energy, believing it was kindness or empathy.

But true empathy doesn't require you to become overwhelmed.

You can sit with someone in their pain without making it your own. You can listen without carrying it home. You can love deeply without losing yourself.

The moment you recognise what belongs to you and what doesn't, something shifts. Your energy becomes clearer, your nervous system settles, and you begin responding from presence rather than reaction.

Not everything you feel is yours to carry.

With love
Carmela 💚
