* What sort of treatment can I expect? We use a combination of:
- specialised manipulation
- mobilisation
- deep massage & stretch
- importantly, a home stretch and exercise programme. As Chiropractors we specialise in getting the joints and muscles lined up and moving at their best “in functional balance”. With less joint friction and reduced muscle tension, most aches appear to melt away. Sometimes a popping sound is heard from a joint as the joint surfaces release from a locked state. This is very similar to the pops & cracks we sometimes get when we stretch. Why do we use these techniques? Simply because they are so effective in releasing deep joint and muscle spasms. Many of the treatment techniques are extremely gentle. Our patients always have a choice and may opt out of joint manipulation treatments if not happy. Importantly, we will always show you quick & easy stretches and exercises to help the joints and muscles to repair and keep moving at their best. We also use deep massage, pressure & trigger point therapy as well as ultrasound and other physiotherapy based treatments. Whatever your problem, we`ll always choose the Treatment that suits you best.

* Does treatment hurt? Sometimes there is some soreness after treatment, after all, we are treating a painful area. In most cases this will subside after a day or two. We never forget that your health is our business and you can be sure we`ll always keep our touch as light and pleasant as possible. We want you to get better quickly …..and stay that way.

* How much will treatment cost? Most new patients attend for between six and eight visits initially, with follow up maintenance or MOT visits. First appointments cost £52 and treatment visits are £36 (£34 for concessions). We take cash, debit and credit cards. Your first appointment will be approximately half an hour and includes: taking a medical history relating to your problem, assessment and treatment on the day (as long as there are no contra-indications). With no waiting list, surgery or drugs the question is:
What’s the Alternative?

A little different post today. I’ve had a stubborn bout of tennis elbow that just wasn’t shifting with the usual approach, so I went to see a very good colleague of mine, Ben Horne @ Tenby Health.

It’s a nice reminder that we work as part of a wider network of practitioners here in Pembrokeshire, and sometimes the best care for a patient (or in this case, for ourselves) comes from pulling in the right expertise together. Tendinopathies like tennis elbow can be genuinely stubborn. The tendon has poor blood supply, so healing is often slower than people expect, and generic advice to just rest it rarely cuts through.

Ben has access to ultrasound and shockwave therapy, both of which are brilliant tools when things aren’t resolving as quickly as we’d like. Shockwave in particular works by creating controlled microtrauma that kickstarts the body’s own repair process in tendons that have stalled.

We’re big believers in working alongside good colleagues across the area rather than trying to be everything to everyone. If you’ve got a nagging tendon issue that isn’t budging, get in touch and we’ll happily work out together what the right next step looks like for you.

WHEN A CHIROPRACTOR NEEDED A CHIROPRACTOR! 🦷

Matt’s wisdom-tooth extraction didn’t quite go to plan. The tooth snapped, the procedure took 1 hour 45 minutes and part of the root had to be left behind. Not his finest day—and ibuprofen was definitely required! 😅

Once the anaesthetic wore off, Matt developed neck and right shoulder pain alongside the expected jaw discomfort.

Luckily, being married to a chiropractor has its advantages! Becky found restricted movement in his neck and a very tender trigger point in his trapezius—likely aggravated by the prolonged position, tension and having his jaw held open for so long.

After adjusting his neck and working on the surrounding muscles, his neck pain improved considerably—and his jaw felt much more comfortable too.

It was a personal reminder that dentistry and chiropractic care can complement each other.

The upper neck and jaw are closely connected. Sensory information from the upper neck and the trigeminal nerve—which supplies much of the face and jaw—meets within the nervous system. The muscles controlling the jaw, head and neck also work together. This helps explain why jaw discomfort, headaches and upper-neck pain can sometimes occur alongside one another.

Dentists assess and treat the teeth, gums, extraction site, bite and jaw joint. Chiropractors can assess the related muscles, joints and movement of the neck, jaw and shoulders. Different roles—but when appropriate, a complementary approach can be helpful.

Feeling stiff or achy through your neck, jaw or shoulders following dental treatment? Get in touch to find out whether we can help.

Persistent or worsening pain, swelling, fever, an unpleasant taste or discharge after an extraction should always be discussed with your dentist.

🌿 REAL STORIES FROM THE CLINIC 🌿

Sometimes the most inspiring stories are shared with us right here in the treatment room.

One of our patients recently told us that, after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, he decided to make significant changes to the way he ate.

He greatly reduced sugar and refined or starchy carbohydrates such as bread, pasta and potatoes, while becoming much more intentional about his everyday food choices.

Less than six months later, his blood tests showed that his type 2 diabetes was in remission—without the need for glucose-lowering medication.

What an incredible achievement. 🙌

This wasn’t a quick fix. It took commitment, consistency and a willingness to change habits that had formed over many years. But his story is a powerful reminder that our daily choices really can influence our future health.

Medication can be important and lifesaving, and nobody should stop or decline prescribed medication without discussing it with their healthcare team. Lifestyle change will not produce the same outcome for everyone—but for some people, type 2 diabetes remission is possible.

We felt his story deserved to be celebrated. Very well done! 🌿

✨ Something special happens when a group of like-minded women come together…

Last Friday I hosted our very first **Chiropractic Circle** at Narberth Chiropractic Clinic — a space for female chiropractors to connect, learn, grow, share and practise together. 🤍

Three local female chiropractors, two hours of learning, plenty of thoughtful discussion, and time spent studying and practising techniques from a recent seminar I attended in Amsterdam.

There is something incredibly valuable about stepping away from working in isolation and creating space to share knowledge, explore new ideas, learn from one another and build each other up.

No competition. No judgement. Just curiosity, connection, collaboration — and women genuinely cheering each other on. ✨

Because when we come together, we don’t just grow individually. We strengthen our profession and become better equipped to support the people and communities we care for.

The first of many Chiropractic Circles, I hope. 💫

**What becomes possible when we choose collaboration over competition?**
