Due to local moor fires, smoke levels may be higher than usual. If you have asthma or COPD, try to stay indoors with windows and door closed where possible, avoid strenuous outdoor activities, and use your reliever inhaler as prescribed. Ensure you have adequate medication. If your symptoms worsen or you’re needing your reliever more often, please contact the GP practice or NHS 111. In an emergency call 999.

We would like to inform you that Unite the Union has notified the NHS of a second phase of industrial action affecting Blood Sciences services.

The additional industrial action is scheduled to take place over a further 20 days across four consecutive weeks, following the conclusion of the current action, and is expected to continue until 7 August 2026.

During this period, some blood testing services may be affected. We are working closely with partner organisations to minimise disruption and ensure that urgent and essential services continue to be prioritised.

If you have an upcoming appointment or blood test, please attend as planned unless you are contacted directly and advised otherwise.
