For our Summer Fayre last week, we had the always so wonderful Jess McGlinchey in to sing for us. Our ladies and gents love it when Jess comes to visit, she always has us up and dancing! She even treated us to a Dolly Parton tribute with our favourite song being Jolene ❤️

Welcome to The Blu Brothers 🐰💙🐰

Everyone at Andrew Smith House has been so excited to welcome our two newest additions to our home, Mr Binkie Blu and Mr Timothy Blu, or Binkie and Timmy, for short 🥹

Mr Binkie Blu arrived first but being responsible rabbit owners, our staff quickly went back and collected his brother too so they will never be lonely… although they have lots of new grandparents to care for them too 😍

☀️ Summer Fair - Fri 28th Aug! ☀️

If you haven’t seen our posters around the home already, we are excited to announce our summer fair is happening Friday 28th August 10am-3pm 🥰

We will have live entertainment, refreshments, stalls, games and a raffle to raise money for our Residents Fund ❤️

We can’t wait to see lots of our lovely families and friends come down to our home for some summer fun for a great cause 🥰

A Lovely Week Spent 💖

Our ladies and gents got up to all kinds of fun last week from trips out to finding fun at home, there was an activity for everyone to enjoy!

We started out the week with a trip to Boundary Mill for some retail therapy, finishing off hunting for bargains with a delicious lunch too. Our ladies and gents also enjoyed painting pebbles and making paper bonnets - much like they would have enjoyed during their youth. It was lovely to reminisce together 🥰

Finishing the week off with ballon fun, creating exercise in disguise! Even with a few unexpected pops, the laughter never stopped. So much fun and so many smiles all around.

🌟 Employee of The Month 🌟

We are so pleased to announce that our employee of the month for July is our lovely Claire 😍

Home Manager Diane says, “Claire returned to us here at ASH a few weeks ago and has returned like she had never been away! She has a settled back so well and thoroughly deserves this recognition.” ❤️

Congratulations Claire and thank you for all you do for our home and residents 👏

Bingo, Quizzing & Crafting!

Our ladies and gents have been enjoying a varied week of activities including bingo, a lovely music quiz and crafting together for National Bee Day 🐝❤️

Our residents had a fantastic time competing in a musical quiz! It was wonderful to see everyone singing along and sharing memories as our WISH Activity Team put their knowledge to the test. Moments like these, filled with music and laughter, are what make our afternoons so special 😍

Lunch with a view 🍽️🌿

On a lovely sunny day last week, we took a couple of our gents out for lunch at Ball Grove Park, Colne 🥰

Sat down on a picnic table eating our yummy lunch, we could hear all the beautiful sounds of nature, including the tweets of birds and the water next to us ❤️

🥰 International Friendship Day 🥰

At the end of July we celebrated International Friendship Day together by making beautful and meaningful cards for one another 💖

Lots of care and thought went the cards that our ladies and gents made and the reactions we saw when they presented their friends and staff with their cards was priceless 🥹
