As the cool beads glide one by one through my fingertips with each round of the mantra, my mind settles. The chatter begins to settle and it feels like stepping into a current that gently carries me along.
At I was reminded how much I love this practice. A workshop I attended at the festival by Sona Parmar (www.thesonamethod.com) offered a beautiful invitation to absorb without needing to analyse. It really struck a chord for me: she said (but more eloquently than I can remember!) “we don’t watch the sunrise and contemplate how it’s not really the sun rising, or sit beside a river and contemplate how it’s able to flow. We just feel the beauty of it and it vibrates inside us.” The invitation was to allow the mantra to be experienced the same way. I loved that.
So here I am, day 5 of a 40 day practice of 108 rounds of the Gyatri Mantra.
Sending you love and peace for the weekend 💛💛💛
(Fun fact: authentic Mala beads have 108 beads so that you can count as you chant!)
