You won’t find me in the shop on Fridays—I’m just up the road at Stepwise Podiatry. This year, they asked me to design their carnival window display, and I’m delighted to have been involved. If you’re out and about today, be sure to take a look at the display. And if you’re dealing with fungal nail infections or ingrowing toenails, why not pop in and see the team for expert advice and treatment?

🦸 HEROES vs VILLAINS – Carnival Window 2026 🦹

Our 2026 Carnival Window is now on display!

This year's theme is Heroes and Villains, and for us the choice of hero was easy...

The Police are the real heroes.

Every day they put themselves on the front line to protect our communities, often facing situations most of us never will. Their courage, dedication and commitment deserve recognition, and our window display is a small tribute to the work they do.

Of course, every hero needs a villain...

Our villain is bad footwear!

Poorly fitting or unsupportive shoes can lead to pain, injury and long-term foot problems. They may not wear a cape, but they can certainly make life more difficult!

So while the police battle crime, we're here to help people battle foot pain with expert footwear advice, orthotics and foot care solutions.

Pop by and take a look at our Carnival 2026 display and let us know what you think!

Finished and delivered.

This pair of bespoke orthopaedic boots was recently made for a lady with complex foot problems who had struggled to find footwear that provided both comfort and support.

The process began with a full 3D scan of her feet. From that scan, a pair of precision-milled wooden lasts was produced—an exact replica of her feet and lower leg shape. This meant every aspect of the boots could be built around her anatomy, rather than expecting her feet to conform to standard footwear.

Handcrafted from premium leather and made entirely to her individual requirements, these boots were designed to provide the fit, stability, and comfort that simply cannot be achieved with off-the-shelf footwear.

This is what bespoke orthopaedic shoemaking is all about. It's not just making a pair of boots; it's creating footwear that helps someone walk more comfortably and confidently while still enjoying beautifully handcrafted footwear.

No two pairs are ever the same, because no two feet are ever the same.

From 3D scan → precision-milled wooden last → handcrafted bespoke boots.

I wanted to share something a little different this weekend.

Some of my customers live with conditions or disabilities that mean they need extra support when getting out and about. I’ve had quite a few people reach out recently to ask where the nearest places are with proper accessible facilities, and whether it’s manageable for them to visit depending on distance and what’s available.

This week, I spent some lovely time away with my two babies and my husband at Barmston Beach. While we were there, we decided to pop into the local Wetherspoons in Bridlington—because why not?!

Honestly, it completely exceeded expectations. The interior design and architecture were beautiful, with thoughtful touches like stained glass and a library-style wall. But what really stood out was the level of care put into the accessible facilities—from a large changing table and hoist to a spacious room that allows for easy movement with a chair.

It’s not in our local area, but I felt it deserved a special mention. It’s reassuring to know that inside what might seem like an ordinary building, there’s everything someone might need to feel comfortable, supported, and seen… along with a glass of wine or two.
