βοΈ Summer Holidays Are Here β Letβs Keep Everyone Safe! π
The summer holidays are a time for relaxing, spending time with family and making memories β but for some of the people we care for, the warmer weather and changes to normal routines can bring extra challenges.
As a care team, we want to remind everyone to take a few simple steps to help keep our loved ones safe this summer:
π§ Stay hydrated β Encourage plenty of fluids throughout the day, especially during warmer weather.
π‘οΈ Keep cool β Close curtains or blinds during the hottest part of the day, use fans safely and try to avoid unnecessary trips out during peak heat.
π Medication matters β Changes to routines can make it easier to forget medication. Make sure prescriptions are ordered, collected and taken as directed.
π¦ Eat regularly β Hot weather can reduce appetite, so little and often can help. Keep easy, nutritious meals and snacks available.
πΆββοΈ Take extra care when out and about β Holidays can mean busy places, unfamiliar surroundings and changes to routines. Make sure anyone who may be vulnerable has the support they need.
π Keep in touch β If you have an elderly relative, neighbour or someone who lives alone, a quick call or visit can make a huge difference.
β€οΈ And rememberβ¦ care doesnβt stop because itβs summer!
For our carers, summer can be particularly busy, especially when colleagues are away on holiday or off sick. Thank you to everyone who continues to go the extra mile, support their colleagues and make sure our clients receive the care and attention they deserve.
Whether youβre heading off on holiday, enjoying the sunshine at home, or simply making the most of the longer days, we hope everyone has a safe, happy and healthy summer. βοΈπ»
