An amazing trip today, for a tour another St.Mary Magdalene's church in Newark ⛪️. It was lovely to take these residents today especially since Jean got married in this church and Kate used to be a volunteer here and attended service weekly.
Also Kate got a lovely surprise when she learnt that they have renamed a piece of the garden she helped plant after her 😄 a few happy tears were shed at this news from both Kate, our activities coordinator Annabel and our Tour guide Nicky

Plus they provide a lovely picnic lunch for us, and we are excited about taking more residents on the 23rd

Again a big thank you to Nicky, Anna and all the church staff and volunteers for having us and making us so welcome

Mamma Mia was definitely the theme this weekend with both films shown on our cinema room, one on Saturday and one on sunday, We also had an impromptu abba sing along when trying to recap the first movie for those who missed it before the second one 🎬 🤣

We also did some pampering with Nail care, shelia and sara pictured decided they wanted matching colours

Making Scandinavian Yarn dolls this afternoon 🪆
We were inspired by this traditional craft so tried to make some our self's, and we think they worked very well 😄

Using leftover wool from our knitting club this definitely tested our fine-motor skills with all the winding, cutting and tieing, but we got the hang of them in the end, some of the ladies have even volunteered to make some more sunday afternoon during cinema club to sell at our upcoming fair.

Plus a selfie at the end which is what happens when the activities coordinator (Annabel) hands the camera lou and Susan they just couldn't help themselves from having a mini photos photoshoot

A wonderful coffee morning this sunny friday 😎
We all throughly enjoyed the homemade scones and jam, with cheese scones definitely being the favourite as well as the fresh fruit platter being a nice summer option ☀️

We also had this two lovely lads (dementia dignity dolls) donated to us from an amazing friend of Bowbridge, they will definitely have a good home and lots of attention in our sensory room and lounges
