I pulled this card before I started writing today and thought I'd share it with you before I say what it is.

Sit with it for a second. What's your first impression? Not the logical interpretation, the gut one. The word or feeling that arrived before you had time to think about it.

That's the one that counts.

Drop it in the comments and I'll share the card and what it said to me a little later. 💜

Real talk about what my spiritual practice has looked like this week.

Monday: pulled a card, made tea, sat with both. Felt like enough.

Tuesday: forgot entirely. Day job was relentless.

Wednesday: new moon. Sat quietly for ten minutes and just breathed.

Thursday: had a session that reminded me why I do this work. Felt full afterwards in a way that's hard to explain.

Friday: writing this, noticing the week, feeling grateful for the moments that counted even though they weren't many.

I share this because I think there's a version of spirituality online that looks very polished and consistent and intentional, and then there's what it actually looks like when you have a job and responsibilities and a life.

Both are real. Mine just looks more like the second one.

And I think that's fine. 💜

Much love,

New moon today, and I always find these moments interesting.

Not because I think you have to do anything particular with them. But because there's something in the collective energy of a new beginning that makes it easier to ask yourself the question you've been avoiding.

What is it, for you? The thing you keep almost starting. The conversation you keep putting off having with yourself. The version of your life you keep imagining and then filing away under "maybe later."

You don't have to do anything dramatic with it today. You don't have to write it down or make a plan or tell anyone. You just have to let yourself know that you know.

That's often enough to begin. 💜

Something I've been sitting with lately.

I've spent the last few years learning how to hold space for people in some of life's most tender moments. The moments when someone doesn't know what to do with what they're feeling. When something needs to be witnessed rather than fixed.

And recently I've started training as a celebrant, because I realised that's exactly what a ceremony is. A moment held. A permission to feel the weight of something significant and not have to carry it alone.

I'm not sure yet how all of this fits together neatly. But I don't think it needs to yet. What I know is that the impulse underneath it all is the same one. To create space where people feel safe enough to be exactly where they are.

Whether that's in a reading, a Reiki session, or standing with someone on one of the most important days of their life.

It's all the same thing, really. 💜

People tell me things in sessions that they've never told anyone else.

Not because I'm particularly special. But because something about the space makes it feel safe to say the thing out loud, maybe for the first time.

I've been thinking about why that is. I think it's because there's no agenda. I'm not trying to fix anything or steer anything or move them toward a particular conclusion. I'm just there, paying attention, and whatever needs to come up has room to come up.

That's what I mean when I talk about holding space. It's not a technique. It's an orientation. A decision to be more interested in what's actually true for someone than in what I think should be true for them.

It's also, I think, why people leave feeling lighter. Not because anything has been solved, but because something has been witnessed.

If you've been curious about what that space actually feels like, I made something that might help. Link to 'Why you're still stuck' available on my website 💜

I tried to pull a card for this week's guidance and not one of my decks wanted to cooperate, so I put them all to one side, sat quietly with my guides, and waited. What came through wasn't a card at all , it was this.

If your spiritual practice has felt quieter over the summer, like something paused without you deciding to pause it, that's not you losing your connection.

That's you being human, living a human life, letting the season do what seasons do.

The veil starts thinning from here. September, October, November brings that gradual shift where the other side feels closer and communication comes more easily. I've noticed something: the people who come into that season having lived fully over the summer, who went to the barbecues and the holidays and the late nights and the ordinary unremarkable days without guilt, they come back to their practice with something new to bring to it. New experiences, new questions, new depth.

The pause wasn't a gap in your spirituality. It was part of it.

Don't be afraid of the shift because September is almost here and something is already stirring. 💜

Something new is coming in September.

I've been wanting to create a space that feels a little slower than social media. Somewhere I can share something real about what I've been sitting with, pull a card for the month ahead, and let you know where to find me at upcoming fairs.

So I'm starting a monthly newsletter. One letter, first Wednesday of every month, short enough to read over a morning coffee.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, the sign-up link is in my bio. 💜

My most consistent spiritual practice costs about 30p and takes three minutes to make.

There's a particular quality to the first cup of the morning before the day has made any demands yet.

I don't rush it. I make it slowly, the way you make something you're actually going to pay attention to, and then I sit with it, cards nearby, no agenda, just the warmth of the cup in my hands and the quiet that exists before everything else starts.

That's when I do some of my clearest connecting. Not in a dramatic way, just a gentle opening, like a door left ajar. The tea seems to signal something to my nervous system, this is the part of the day that belongs to you, and spirit seems to take that as an invitation too.

I know ceremonial tea drinking is a whole beautiful practice in its own right and I have enormous respect for it. But my version is simpler than that. It's just the intentional act of slowing down enough to actually be present for the cup in front of me, and in that presence, something else becomes possible.

Connection to myself. Connection to spirit. Both arriving quietly over something as ordinary and perfect as a good brew.

You don't need a ritual that looks impressive. You just need one that actually works for you.

This week, make the tea. Sit with it. See what comes.

Today is the 8:8 Lion's Gate portal, and my mum's birthday. Hers and her twin brothers, actually, which feels like exactly the kind of magic the universe would arrange. 😄

The Lion's Gate portal opens every year on the 8th of August, when the star Sirius, one of the brightest stars in our sky and one that ancient cultures considered a powerful source of spiritual wisdom, rises in alignment with the sun and the Earth. In numerology, 8 is the number of abundance, infinite energy, and alignment, and when you double it, 8:8, that energy amplifies. It's considered one of the most powerful days of the year for clarity, for new beginnings, and for hearing what your soul has been quietly trying to tell you.

But here's what I love most about it, and what I'll be thinking about today when I'm celebrating my mum: the portal isn't something that happens to you from the outside. It's an invitation to go inward.

My mum was the first person who made it safe for me to trust what I sensed as a child. When I saw spirit, she didn't dismiss it or tell me I was imagining things. She just made it okay. That kind of quiet permission is everything, and it shaped every single thing I do now in my work with Sacred Conversations.

So today I'll be celebrating her, celebrating my Uncle, celebrating the magic of this day, and sitting with gratitude for everyone who ever made someone else feel less alone in what they sense but can't always explain.

If something has been trying to get your attention lately, a feeling you keep pushing away, a knowing you keep second-guessing, the 8:8 portal is a beautiful moment to stop and actually listen to it.

Happy Lion's Gate. 💜

Pulled a card this morning and it stopped me in my tracks a little.

I'm not going to tell you which one yet, I want to know what you see first.

Before you scroll: what does your gut say? What do you feel when you look at it? What word comes up, even if it doesn't make obvious sense?

Drop it in the comments. I'll share the card and what came through for me later today. 💜

Much love,

Lucy x
