Celebrate Disability Pride Month โค๏ธ๐๐ค๐ฉต๐๐ค
Disability Pride Month is an opportunity to celebrate the diversity, achievements and contributions of disabled people, while recognising disability as a valued part of identity. It is a time to recognise the strengths, talents and lived experiences of the UK's 16 million disabled people, while continuing to advocate for accessibility, inclusion and equality.
The Disability Pride Flag
The Disability Pride Flag, created by Ann Magill, represents the diversity of the disabled community and the shared journey towards equality and inclusion.
The five coloured diagonal stripes symbolise different disability experiences, while the charcoal background acknowledges the barriers and discrimination many disabled people continue to face. Together, the flag represents resilience, community, pride and the ongoing movement for disability rights.
