And so I stand on my own threshold...again.
My Mini Mare has now started college, and as my full time hours as Home Educator & 'just' a SAHM (more on that later) have been significantly cut, I'm gently opening the barn doors once more.
It's been quite the ride home to get here & I feel like I'm only just getting started.
For those who have been here since the 2012 pioneering days of "Equijay - Making Sense of Horse Sense", you'll know my philosophy has always been about nourishment.
Fifty years in the saddle, an MSc in Equine Science, over a decade in equine vet med, academia & clinical nutrition on both sides of the Atlantic & Downunder, and a portfolio of complex cases (including my own) that taught me true nourishment begins within...namely with a nervous system that can actually access rest & digest.
Horse & human.
A healthy happy herd depends on a healthy happy human...and healthy happy land on which we all stand.
So I kept riding...across the realms of Spirit, Soma, Science... where the sacred, somatic and scientific finally stopped arguing with each other and sat down in the same pasture to rest & digest together.
Deeper into trauma work, neuroscience, HERstory, Somatic Therapy, Sacred Female Yoga & iRest Yoga Nidra, Shamanic medicine, energy healing & trainings that put paid to my peer-reviewed reference list unhealthy co-dependency.
And along the way my “triple-dipped, super-psychic bad-ass” natal chart handed me the reins, slapped my arse, told me to find my sovereign seat bones & ride my own wild home.
So I did.
Years in the arena, years in books, years in training spaces and many moons face planted in the initiatory mud puddle of existential embodiment...I've spent the last decade sensing my way back in & letting go of needing to fix, change or make meaning of any of it.
Because our bodies already know the way home, and our horses are the primal placeholders that invite us to return there...as uncomfortable as that often gets...if we can just allow the grace & sanctuary space to be with all of it.
To re-claim
To re-member
To re-wild ..what has always been inside.
This is the wild ride home I came here for, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Feel like you might like to ride wild alongside & wondering where to start?
..right where you are.
I designed "The Half Halt: FREE guided somatic practice" for exactly that reason.
For you.
No horse required (although they do appreciate practising alongside). Just a few uninterrupted minutes, and a body that's curious to begin the ride home.
