We teach you simple, memorable ways to manage whole incidents. Award winning Life Saving Training offers effective, hands on, useful First Aid and Health & Safety training and qualifications. Too many people die every day in the UK who could have potentially been saved by a well trained first aider. Those around them don't know what to do in an emergency. The good news is, it's easy to fix. At Lif

e Saving Training we provide you with simple, memorable ways to help you effectively deal with a range of first aid incidents. We start at the beginning and teach you what you need to know to help someone in need. It's simple really. Life Saving Training is a training centre approved, supported and verified by Immediate Temporary Care (ITC) Ltd. We believe the Ofqual and SQA regulated qualifications we offer are the best available. We don’t believe in baffling you with big words and telling you stories! What we do believe in is teaching you what you need to know to help someone in need. We prepare you for situations that arise in the real world and do it in an engaging, interesting and useful way. After all, that’s what first aid training should be – shouldn’t it? We make learning interesting which helps you learn and remember the skills you need. Our courses are dynamic so you’ll get lots of practice dealing with first aid incidents in our safe training environment. Practicing in this way helps make the skills you need automatic, so you’ll know what to do in a real first aid emergency. And that’s what’s important: getting good quality life saving training that gives you the confidence and the skills to help someone in need.

We hear this all the time during courses, usually when people realise just how much has faded since their last session! 💡

Certificates last three years, but memory doesn't. In fact, the HSE “strongly recommends” annual refresher training to help reduce skill fade.

We have clients who don't wait for the expiry date. They take annual refreshers or retake full qualifications every two years.

The difference?

➡️ More retention of vital knowledge
➡️ Less hesitation in high-stress moments
➡️ More confidence when it counts

Even if your certificate is still in date, take a moment to ask yourself honestly: 𝘐𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺, 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘶𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳?

400k views on our Instagram reel… but the comments section had some thoughts. 😬

Our video on ‘The £30 hiking item that could save your life’ went a bit viral, but it turns out a lot of people don’t actually know what a survival shelter (bothy bag) is.

No, it’s not just a "tarp." And yes, it’s supposed to be a tent without a floor! There’s a reason this is probably the most-used piece of kit by Mountain Rescue teams:

⚡ Speed: It deploys in seconds to create a fully enclosed microclimate, instantly blocking wind, rain, and snow.

🚁 Safety: If you're ill or injured, the bright material makes you instantly visible to search teams and helicopters.

🥾 Practicality: No floor means you can throw it on without taking off muddy boots or sharp crampons. Crucially, it can be dropped right over a casualty who can't move.

Whether you’re waiting for rescue or just trying to eat your sandwiches in a downpour, it belongs in every backpack.

Giving up a weekend isn’t always easy, but these folks just spent theirs ensuring they know how to help others when it matters most. ⛑️🙌

We recently ran our Advanced Outdoor First Aid course at the fantastic Birkheads Wild site.

It’s designed specifically for people who have done Outdoor First Aid a few times before, who want to sharpen their ability to manage real-world emergencies.

From basic First Aid, to Outdoor First Aid and our more advanced options, we’re on a mission to empower people through cleverly designed, environment specific, evidence-based training.

Huge respect to everyone who showed up and put in the work. 👏

Curious about how we train? Come see what we’re about. 😉

Next up for Outdoor First Aid:

✅ 6th-7th July at Gosforth Nature Reserve
✅ 13th-14th August at Birkheads Wild
✅ 26th-27th September at Birkheads Wild
✅ 10th-11th October at Birkheads Wild

Don’t need outdoor specific training? No problem, we support many different workplaces!

When someone stops breathing or experiences another life threatening emergency, you can't just rely on a 999 call.

You need to know what to do right then.

This weekend, a brilliant mix of Forest School, Mountain Bike, and DofE Leaders, plus Mountain Rescue members, are doing exactly that. They're investing their spare time to brush up on life saving skills for working and adventuring outdoors.

Day 2 is launching now! ✅

Let's get you prepared and empowered too. Drop us a message to chat about our courses.

Basic first aid skills save lives. ❤️

Incredible news about a local man, Sam Collard, jumping into action and administering CPR.

He's first aid trained and knew what he needed to do.

"Hopefully it encourages people not only to go and learn CPR, but even just to be confident enough to not be afraid if you're in that situation because it can happen to anyone at any time. It's a handy thing and a life skill and if you do need to use it you've got to."

Well done Sam! 🙌

Sam Collard administered life-saving CPR to a man whose heart stopped in a medical emergency but insists his actions were nothing out of the ordinary

May has been a bit of a whirlwind!🌪️

From Greater Manchester all the way up to Berwick-upon-Tweed, and plenty of stops in between (Penrith, Darlington, Durham, Newcastle, Gateshead, and Morpeth) we’ve covered some serious mileage this month.

The best part? The people.

We’ve loved witnessing those "light bulb" moments and watching people grow in confidence while delivering:

🩹 First Aid at Work
⛑️ Emergency First Aid at Work
🪵 Outdoor First Aid
👶 Paediatric First Aid
🧯 Fire Warden/Marshal Training
💨 Oxygen Administration

Massive thank you to everyone who welcomed us this month, all the coffees and friendly faces have been much appreciated. It’s nearly time for a quick reset ahead of June!

In June and July we’ve got these public courses running with a few spaces going spare in the North East. If you want one, don’t hang about and drop us a message! 👋
