We are thrilled to be welcoming this motley crew aboard for our Seasonal Celebration days!
They will be making their first guest appearance at our Summer Harvest gathering on the 1st August in Durham

We are really excited to be putting together some very special Seasonal Celebration Days over the rest of this year, thanks to your feedback and suggestions, see the dates and how to book below.

We had some great feedback and suggestions from our Summer Solstice event last month and in response to this we will be bringing stargazing later in the year, circus skills/juggling and we are looking into how to make fire side Karaoke work off grid, we will have live entertainment and some nature connected movement/dancing in our future gatherings too!

Our next event is on Saturday 1st August - 1pm - 6pm

This late summer gathering is celebrated with a gathering in of the harvest, as we celebrate the warm rays of the sun and all it has supported to grow over the first half of the year.
Not just what has been growing in the hedgerow, farm and garden but also what has grown within ourselves and our communities. As the days continue to shorten and we prepare for the coming Autumn we will come together to celebrate, feast and give thanks.
As always there will be food, folklore and fun!

We ask that you book well in advance so we can ensure we have enough food and craft materials for everyone.
(Booking will only be possible until 6pm on Thursday 30h July)

🌞 Summer Solstice Celebration: A Wonderful Day of Sunshine, Soup and Soul Food 🌿

What a beautiful way to begin our new Seasonal Celebration Days programme!

Over the weekend, people of all ages came together to celebrate the Summer Solstice through nature connection, shared food, creativity, storytelling and community. It was a day filled with laughter, reflection, friendship and a deep appreciation for the natural world around us.

This was the first of eight Seasonal Celebration Days we will be hosting each year over the next two years, creating opportunities for people across County Durham to connect with nature, celebrate the changing seasons and strengthen community relationships.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered, facilitated activities and helped create such a welcoming atmosphere. The positive feedback, smiles and sense of togetherness reminded us exactly why these celebrations matter.

A special thank you also goes to The National Lottery Community Fund and National Lottery players, whose support has made this programme possible.

Personally, this event felt particularly meaningful. Following a recent injury that left me with both arms fractured, I have been relying heavily on the support of others. Seeing our amazing team step forward, support one another and deliver such a successful event was both humbling and inspiring. This celebration was a true reflection of community in action.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We can't wait to welcome you to the next Seasonal Celebration Day on Saturday 1st August - save the date!

We are looking for local musicians to come and showcase their music at our Seasonal Celebration events for all ages in Durham.

Ideally with a theme of seasonal and/or local folklore or interactive singing and/or drumming (family friendly).
