🥕 Community Food Support

For many years, we have proudly provided our Community Food Support service free of charge. However, like many charities, the rising cost of running essential services means we can no longer sustain this delivery model.

As we receive no external funding for this service and rely on the generosity of local donations, along with top up financial support from Wallsend Memorial Hall & People’s Centre, we have made the difficult decision to introduce a £3 contribution per visit. This small contribution will help us continue providing this much-valued service for our community.

Our Community Food Support session takes place every Thursday from 10:30am to 11:30am at Wallsend Memorial Hall & People’s Centre.

Everyone is welcome. There are no referrals or eligibility criteria - simply register with us on your first visit, which only takes a few minutes.

Whether you’re looking to make your shopping budget stretch a little further or just need a helping hand, you’ll always be greeted with a friendly face and a warm welcome.

Please don’t let the news stop you from asking for help 💚

We’ve spoken to so many people recently who have told us they’re worried about applying for disability benefits because of everything they’re hearing in the news.

We completely understand. It can all feel confusing and uncertain.

But if your health or disability affects your everyday life, please don’t assume you won’t qualify or that there’s no point applying. Every person’s circumstances are different, and it’s always worth getting the right advice before making that decision.

At The People’s Advice Service, we’re here to help you understand your options. We can talk you through the process, explain what you may be entitled to, help with the paperwork, gather the right evidence, and support you every step of the way.

💙Blue Monday - You’re Not Alone💙

Today is often called Blue Monday - a day that gets a reputation for feeling a little heavier than most. While it’s more symbolic than scientific, the feelings behind it are very real for many of us.

Winter can be tough. The days are short, the weather is cold, money worries can linger after Christmas, and motivation can feel hard to find. So today is simply a reminder: mental health matters.

Join us every Thursday, 11am-1pm, for our Winter Warmth sessions at Wallsend Memorial Hall (The MEM). A warm space, friendly faces, and time to slow down together.

🎉 This week, we’ve got BINGO!
A bit of fun, a few laughs, and a lovely way to spend the morning - no experience needed, just come as you are.

💛 These sessions are free to attend and open to everyone. You can look forward to:
