"Your life is not defined by a grade on a piece of paper; you are so much more than this. This will be okay. You will find your path and enjoy the journey along the way.” 💬

We're really proud to be part of such an essential, community-based service that's there to support people with their mental health and wellbeing 💜

Working together with our brilliant partners, Hope Haven is delivered by dedicated teams across Everyturn Mental Health, Cumbria Health, Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust, Home Group, ICan Wellbeing group CIO, The Well Communities CIC, and Whitehaven Community Trust 🙂

All of us at Hope Haven are thrilled to hear the government’s announcement of a major expansion of community mental health support across England.

Hope Haven was one of six pilot projects trying out this new community-based approach, and we’re proof that it can work. Over 2,000 people have got support from us this year already. And we’ve seen the impact that’s had on other pressured NHS services. In the first five months of 2026, adult acute mental health admissions in the area fell by over 22%, while mental health attendances at A&E reduced by over 15% compared with the same period last year.

Behind every one of those numbers is a person getting support sooner, with fewer barriers and less disruption to their life.

When someone is struggling, they need somewhere welcoming and easy to access. No waiting lists or the need for a formal diagnosis. We start with the person and bring the right support around them, rather than expecting people in distress to navigate a complicated system.

We’re so pleased to see this approach being expanded. Some of the organisations who work together on Hope Haven will be part of delivering the new community-based mental health centres and emergency departments, and they will be sharing more about these exciting plans as soon as they can.

We’re ready to share what we have learned at Hope Haven so that more communities can benefit 💜

We’re so proud to share that we've been named as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women™ in 2026!

The Best Workplaces for Women list recognises companies in the UK that are ensuring gender balance across their organisation, removing barriers to women’s career progression and creating workplaces where all employees, regardless of gender, can flourish.

Sarah Dewar, Everyturn’s Executive Direction of People, Digital and Transformation commented:

“At Everyturn, being recognised as a great place to work for women and as an inclusive employer matters because it reflects who we are and the difference we want to make.

Our colleagues are at the heart of our mission to ensure no one struggles alone, and when women — and all colleagues — feel valued, supported, safe and able to thrive, they bring their best to the people and communities we support.

Inclusion is not a separate commitment; it is how we live our values, remove barriers, strengthen our culture and create better mental health support for everyone.” 💬

We know that it can be difficult to ask for help. The first step towards getting help can often feel like the biggest, it's normal to feel nervous 💜

If you feel like you’re struggling, it’s important to get the right support. Talking therapy provides a safe, confidential space to explore how you're feeling, and find a way forward. We offer all kinds of support to help you improve your mood, get better sleep, and find ways to manage.

"The counsellor was very kind, understanding and supportive. They offered me a lot of help, useful guidance and techniques which I am using up to today. They helped me to manage my feelings and my life, and to feel happy and normal again. I am very grateful for all the help and support." 💬

Staying safe & comfortable in the warm weather ☀️

Did you know? Some mental health medications can affect how your body copes with heat. Make sure to take extra care when it's warm 💜

Tips for staying safe in the heat:

- Stay hydrated
- Seek shade during peak heat
- Wear loose, light clothing
- Keep your home cool
- Use fans, cool showers or damp cloths
- Tell someone if you’re struggling
- Watch for signs of overheating (feeling dizzy, sick, tired, headache)
- Check in on others

Keep taking your medication as prescribed & speak to your GP if you're worried 💜

Our 2026 Everyturn Awards! 🎉

In June, we celebrated our incredible colleagues at our third annual Everyturn Awards ceremony! Our annual awards ceremony is a time to celebrate the impactful work our colleagues across all of our services do every day 💜

It was great to be back at Gosforth Civic Theatre (GCT) to host our awards ceremony. Gosforth Civic Theatre are an independent arts venue, café bar, events space and community hub. We’d like to say a huge thank you to the brilliant team at GCT who helped make our night as wonderful as it was ⭐

We’d also like to say a huge thank you to Aspire Technology Solutions for helping us celebrate an incredible year by sponsoring our drinks! 🥂

And last but not least we’d like to thank Ana Fae Music, Not Just A Pretty Facepaint, Gavin Forster Commercial Photography and StudioSocial_NORTH Photobooth for helping us make sure the night was one to remember 💜

This year also marks 40 years of Everyturn Mental Health! Our purpose is the same now as it was then, to make sure no one has to struggle alone. It was wonderful to look back and reflect on the last 40 years, and look ahead to the future.

A huge well done to all of our colleagues who were nominated, finalists and winners at our 2026 Everyturn Awards. Congratulations! 🏆
