🌧️ Rain didn't stop the play! 🎺

🚗 ☀️What an incredible day we had at our Summer Fete and Car Boot Sale! The British weather might have forced us to move everything indoors, but it certainly couldn't dampen our spirits.

Thanks to the amazing generosity of everyone who joined us, we are thrilled to announce that we raised a grand total of £628.32!

A massive thank you to:
👥 Our wonderful volunteers & team members who worked tirelessly behind the scenes (and adapted so quickly to the last-minute room changes!).

🧁 🌭 🍔 Our incredible kitchen team and volunteer bakers for supplying the hot food and the table stocked with delicious treats.

🎟️ Everyone who bought tickets — congratulations to all our lucky raffle winners! 🎟️

🎺 We were honored to welcome back Der Huffnpuffers, a fantastic brass band made up of the friends and family of our dearly missed former resident, Beryl. Their music brought so much joy to the Bistro! During their break, the band braved the weather & went out to visit the new garden gazebo — erected in Beryl’s honor thanks to a very generous donation made by the family. ❤️

Thank you to every single person who came along, bought a stall item, or helped out. You made today an unforgettable success!

After weeks and weeks of praying for rain, it finally decided to show up on the one day we planned a summer party! But don't worry, we aren't letting a little splash ruin our bash.

👗🌭It’s the morning after the night before and we are still buzzing from last night’s FUN-draiser Quiz, which raised a grand total of £172.50 for our Activities Fund!

Activity Coordinator-turned-quiz-master Sophie hosted the evening and—with the exception of not knowing her motorways and being a bit obsessive about getting her pens back—the night was a resounding success. 🖊️

We had Audrey Hepburn, characters from Grease, and plenty of cat-eye glasses and neck scarves to fit our 50s theme.

Shout out and special thank you to Home Manager, Julie for the flawless hot dog delivery service, handling the drinks orders and moral support. And a huge thank you to everyone who came along to support us, as well as those who couldn’t make it but still kindly donated. We appreciate you all so much! 🥤🎉🌭

Now to get ready for the next big event… our summer fete & car boot sale this Saturday (29th) from noon 🚗 ☀️

🍦 A Very Cool Heatwave Treat at Westbury Grange Care Home☀️

With the temperature still rising, we knew just who to call! A huge, heartfelt thank you to Nats of Pecorella Whip and our fantastic driver, Marie, for coming to our rescue today! 🚐✨

Despite the late notice, they made a special extra stop just for us, bringing giant smiles and much-needed cool treats to our residents and team members.

All in all, about 55 delicious ice creams (complete with Flakes! 🍫) and a slushie or two were enjoyed by all. It was the ultimate beat-the-heat afternoon! 🍦😋

We are so grateful for your kindness, quick response, and wonderful community spirit. You truly made our day! ❤️

Not many photos of residents enjoying them as our hands were full with ice-cream cones (or melted ice cream) very soon after the first run so you’ll have to trust us on the smiles.

🧶 The Knitting Group from Hanslope Methodist Church joined us for a Knit & Natter session and enjoyed chatting whilst working on their crafts- they’re very welcome to come again.

🖼️ Colouring an a cuppa and table games were nice relaxing activities on a hot and muggy day.

🎲 Dice Bingo was a huge hit - though that could have been because residents enjoyed throwing the dice at Activity Coordinator Sophie’s head more than the game itself 🥴

🎵✈️ We bid farewell to Jane, our Music Therapist who is jetting off to China to start a new chapter. We wish her the best of luck 🤞

🎉 50s FUN-DRAISER QUIZ NIGHT! 🌭

We’d love for you to join us for a fantastic quiz night on Thursday 27th August at 6:30 PM!

We’ll have 50s decor to set the mood, but the quiz rounds will cover a wide variety of fun topics for everyone to enjoy!

🎟️ Entry: £4 per person (Includes your entry AND a hot dog!)
👥 Teams: Max 6 per team
🍾 Drinks: Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) - other refreshments available to purchase.
💵 Payment: Cash only on the night
👗 Dress: 50s costume optional!
