Looking for an NHS Dentist?

If you don't have a regular NHS dental practice, you can register on the Dental Access Portal.

The Dental Access Portal helps people access routine NHS dental care by matching them with dental practices when appointments become available.

NHS dental practices no longer hold their own waiting lists and now accept new routine patients through the portal, making access to NHS dentistry fairer and simpler.

Registering is quick and easy via the Dental Access Portal πŸ‘‰ https://orlo.uk/21OVK

We were delighted to welcome Nicola Williams, Executive Director of RCN Wales, to the Royal Gwent Hospital this week, where she visited our Gold-accredited D3W Elective Surgical Ward.

During her visit, Nicola met with Ward Manager Indu Jacob and the D3W team, learning more about the positive impact of the Ward Accreditation Programme and the ward's journey towards achieving Platinum status.

The visit showcased the team's commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care and an excellent patient experience. Under Indu's leadership, the ward has achieved Gold accreditation through a strong culture of teamwork, continuous improvement and professional excellence.

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is highlighting how community-based activities can make a real difference to women experiencing menopause.

Meet The NaNaz, a Newport-based punk music group formed through local creative workshops, who shared how music helped them manage symptoms such as brain fog, anxiety and loss of confidence.

Their experience shows the huge value of:
βœ”οΈ Safe spaces to talk openly about menopause
βœ”οΈ Creative activities that boost confidence and wellbeing
βœ”οΈ Social connection with other women at the same life stage

Menopause is a significant transition, and no one should face it alone.

🎸 Want to learn more? The NaNaz story is featured in a BBC documentary airing on BBC One TONIGHT at 7.30pm, showcasing how music, creativity and community have helped bring women together during menopause, the documentary is also available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.

Meet some of the Torfaen Rapid Frailty Response team – Team Lead, Tracey, and Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Jodie and Toni. As a team, they visit elderly or frail patients in their home environment to provide in depth frailty assessments, diagnosis and treatment with an aim of preventing a hospital admission.

Working closely with GPs, hospital teams and partners, they take a holistic approach to ensure patients receive the right person-centred care and support.
Jodie said: "It's a privilege to be invited into a patient's home and be able to facilitate the same sort of principles of hospital care within their home."

Toni said: "It’s great to be part of such a highly skilled team and to use a multi-disciplinary approach when it comes to providing geriatric care. Patients are so grateful to hear when we say we can perform their assessments at home.”
