Did you spot our fantastic teams and their families who took part in Newport Carnival last night?

Everyone looked incredible and we were delighted to hear they took home three trophies! Thank you to everyone who helped organise this lovely event and took part.

Meet Jaffa! Our newest recruit 🐾

Meet Jaffa, the newest member of our Isle of Wight Ambulance Service Care Dog Team! 🐾🐢

Jaffa had a difficult start in life, arriving at Battersea as a stray puppy with a serious liver condition that required major surgery.

After making a remarkable recovery and finding his forever home, Jaffa has now completed his training and assessment to become a fully fledged care dog.

He joins our other care dogs in providing comfort, affection and a moment of calm for ambulance crews and call handlers working under pressure.

From Battersea rescue pup to valued member of – what a journey! πŸΎπŸ’š

Earlier this week, ahead of the announcement that Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has been rated Good by the CQC, we visited some of our staff to ask why they are proud to work for the ambulance service.

Listen to what they shared.....

πŸš‘ Great news for the Island πŸš‘

Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has been rated Good by the CQC, with all three inspected services achieving a Good rating and two improving from Requires Improvement.

Inspectors praised the service's strong partnerships, compassionate patient care, improved emergency response times, and commitment to continuous learning and innovation.

To celebrate this achievement, our ambulance station and clinical coordination centre were lit up green last night - thank you to NDL Electrical for sorting this for our teams.

A huge thank you to our staff, volunteers and partners whose dedication made this possible.

🌑️ Extreme heat can put extra strain on the heart 🌑️

During the recent heatwave, there was a 31% increase nationally in the number of times 999 call handlers directed people to a nearby defibrillator during a suspected cardiac arrest.

If you are responsible for a defibrillator, please take a moment to:

βœ… Check your defibrillator
βœ… Record your check on The Circuit

This will help ambulance services know it's ready if it's needed

πŸ‘‰ Check your defibrillator and update The Circuit today.

Thank you for your support.
