𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗩𝗲𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀

Current stats highlight that men are more likely to commit su***de by almost 3 to 1. That’s scary!

Often men carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. They take on the role as bread winner, the provider, the one who deals and sorts it all, sometimes even the discipline (I’ve seen that).

Being this person, raises stress, creates a self-story of needing to be the one doing it all. Watching others doing it and looking as if they have it all sorted.

Longer hours, less down time, taking more on to be that all takes it toll.

But where can you turn, who is there for you?

Who’s the mate you talk to? Where can you go to offload and self-charge?

Do you want this someone to vent to?

Now as well as all this we need to also make sure we have the raw ingredients to support these feel good hormones we talk about. One of the keys here is the veggies and fruit. They help feed the good bacteria where most of these happy hormones are.

How many veggies do you have a day? Could you aim for at least 5?

Finally sunshine, yes I am aware where we live! But when its out, so should we be. We know sunshine promotes a positive mood, again linking to those good hormones.

Very little has just 1 possible answer, its multi-factoral - loads of things - the perfect storm.

Can you start putting your steps in place to support you each and every day.

The “All or Nothing” Trap

You don’t need a full life overhaul.

That’s where most men get stuck.

Too big. Too much. Too soon.
Then… nothing happens.

Think smaller:
✔ One habit
✔ Done daily
✔ Built over time

That’s how change sticks.

How Healthy Is Your Heart?

In the UK, heart health looks a big deal. It’s a leading health threat.
• 1 in 8 men die from coronary heart disease — the biggest male killer
• 1.5 million men are living with heart disease
• 1 in 10 heart related deaths are linked to diabetes
Yeah… Well that’s scary 💩

But you can make a difference yourself. What you put on your plate can make a difference.
So, what should actually be on the plate to support the heart?
• Meat, fish, oily fish, tofu, beans, lentils, eggs, natural yoghurt
• Veggies- at least 3.
• The extra bit the brown variety of your favourites – rice, pasta, bread

Oh and how high the plate is piled counts as well!

These foods deliver the goodness your heart, gut, and energy levels rely on.
They keep you full, fuelled, and focused.

The science behind how food works in the body is complex — but the rule is simple:
Know what to put on the plate – Each time.

Most people think sugar is just the spoonful added to tea or coffee.

The reality is that our bodies break down many foods into glucose, including bread, rice, pasta, cakes, biscuits, sweets, fruit and even some vegetables.

As we get older, our bodies can become less efficient at managing blood sugar. Regularly relying on highly processed and sugary foods can place extra demand on the body's insulin response, potentially increasing the risk of health issues over time.

The good news? You don't need to cut everything out.

A simple first step is to make sure white carbohydrates and treat foods aren't the main feature of every meal. Instead, focus on including protein, vegetables and whole foods more often.

Small changes to what's on your plate today can make a big difference to your energy, focus and long-term health tomorrow.

# # **Men, Work & Digestion: Why Your Gut Might Be Fed Up 🚧🍔**

Long days. Missed meals. Coffee for breakfast. Grabbing a sandwich in the van or inhaling dinner at 9pm.

Sound familiar?

Most men don’t think about digestion… until it starts fighting back.

Bloating. Heartburn. Feeling stuffed or sluggish. Energy crashes. Brain fog. The afternoon “I could sleep standing up” feeling.

Here’s the thing: **your body isn’t designed to run on stress and convenience food forever.**

Work habits can quietly wreck digestion:

❌ Skipping meals
❌ Living on beige food and meal deals
❌ Too much caffeine, not enough water
❌ Stress keeping your gut in “survival mode”

Your gut works best when life slows down… even just a little.

# # # Start simple:

✔ Eat real food where you can
✔ Protein at meals to keep energy steady
✔ Get some fibre in, your gut loves it
✔ Don’t survive on caffeine and hope

**Good digestion = better energy, focus and less feeling like a bag of spanners by 3pm.**

Men's Health Week.

Over the next week as Men’s Health week is unavoidable, taking about all the things that normally stay silent, but Lets open that up and see where the conversations take us.

Where I want to start on day 1 is the foundations, without them we are going nowhere.

So, one of the foundations, is sometime called blood sugar balancing – yep too much, so lets put it another way. Balancing out the hunger. Eating enough of the goof stuff that it will keep you going to the next meal.

So, lets think breakfast or meal 1 –
What do you have and does it keep you going to lunch??
If no is the answer here, there may not be enough of the right stuff going in.
Add a bit extra meat, fish, egg, cheese, yoghurt, beans or lentils.

Lets take an example
Toast, margarine and jam x3
Can we upgrade to 2 slices brown sourdough with butter and wholeearth baked beans.

Just as quick, but this time we have added more fibre as well as protein. Often a simple swap can make a big difference.

Happy to upgrade your brekkie of choice in the comments….

When Coffee Isn’t Cutting It ☕

Running on caffeine and determination… but still shattered?

Feeling tired, wired and fed up?

Sometimes it’s not about laziness or “just getting on with it.” Sometimes the tank is simply running low.

During busy, stressful periods, the body can become depleted. Alongside real food, sleep and lifestyle changes, certain homeobotanical/herbal blends may help support the nervous system and energy levels.

A carefully selected blend can offer gentle support while you work on building better habits. Sometimes simple daily consistency, such as 3 drops, 3 times a day, can help give your body a bit of breathing space while the foundations are being rebuilt.

Think support, not miracle cure.
🍽 Food still matters.
😴 Sleep still matters.
😌 Stress still matters.

But sometimes the body appreciates a helping hand while you make those changes.

Ever tried herbal support for energy, stress or burnout?
