🎓 A huge congratulations to our Director, Roisin! 💙

This week, Roisin graduated with her Master’s degree in Psychology and Learning Disabilities from the University of Portsmouth, and what an incredible achievement it has been.

Not only did she complete her Master’s, but she also achieved the highest mark in her research project, earning the prestigious Sue Buckley Memorial Award. 👏🏆

With temperatures reaching a scorching 29.5°C, graduation day was certainly one to remember! ☀️😎

At New Feet/Mourne Feet, we’re incredibly proud to have a director who is so passionate about learning, research and continually expanding her knowledge to better support others. Her dedication, compassion and commitment are inspiring, and this achievement reflects the hard work she puts into everything she does.

Foot ulcers can become serious if they’re ignored. 🤍

A diabetic foot ulcer is an open sore or wound that heals very slowly. They’re most common in people living with diabetes, particularly if they’ve developed reduced sensation (neuropathy) in their feet.

When you can’t feel your feet properly, something as simple as standing on a sharp object or a blister from poorly fitting shoes can quickly turn into an ulcer without you even realising.

Please don’t try home remedies or over-the-counter treatments. Delaying treatment or using the wrong products can make the problem much worse.
