When Others Say There Are No More Options, We Look for New Possibilities

Craniaaa Neurorehabilitation Centre

"Restoring Hope... Rebuilding Lives."

Many individuals living with complex neurological, genetic, inflammatory, and degenerative conditions reach a stage where conventional treatment has reached its limits. Despite receiving the best available medical care, they may continue to experience declining function, increasing disability, and reduced independence.

Many of our patients come to Craniaaa Neurorehabilitation Centre after hearing words such as:

* "There is nothing more we can do."
* "You have reached your maximum recovery."
* "You will need to learn to live with your condition."
* "Further improvement is unlikely."

At Craniaaa, we believe these words should never mean that hope, dignity, or rehabilitation has come to an end.

A Different Approach to Neurorehabilitation

For more than 33 years, Dr. Goshi and the Craniaaa team have dedicated their lives to helping children and adults with complex neurological conditions. Many of the individuals we care for have exhausted conventional rehabilitation pathways or have been told that further recovery is unlikely.

Instead of focusing on limitations, we focus on possibilities.

Every patient undergoes a comprehensive neurological assessment to identify remaining rehabilitation potential. Using evidence-informed rehabilitation, advanced neurorehabilitation technologies, and highly individualised treatment programmes, we aim to maximise function, independence, and quality of life.

While we cannot promise a cure or guarantee specific outcomes, we have seen many patients regain abilities, confidence, and independence that they never thought possible.

Beyond Rehabilitation – Restoring Lives

Recovery is about much more than improving movement.

It is about restoring dignity, confidence, purpose, and belonging.

Our mission is to help every individual achieve the highest level of independence possible and to support their reintegration into family life, education, employment, and the wider community.

Whenever possible, Craniaaa continues to support patients beyond rehabilitation by helping them identify opportunities for education, vocational training, supported employment, and meaningful participation in society.

We believe that every person deserves not only to live—but to live with purpose, respect, and hope.

**Who We Help**

Craniaaa may be the right place for you if:

* You are living with a complex neurological, genetic, inflammatory, or chronic condition.

* Traditional rehabilitation has not delivered the progress you hoped for.

* You have been told there are few or no further rehabilitation options available.

* You are committed to participating in a thorough assessment and personalised rehabilitation programme.

* You understand that every person's journey is unique and that outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

**Our Promise**

We do not define people by a diagnosis, prognosis, or disability.

We see the person first.

We believe that every individual deserves compassion, opportunity, and the chance to achieve their fullest potential.

Through innovation, experience, and unwavering dedication, we continue to challenge what is thought possible in neurological rehabilitation.

**The Craniaaa Philosophy**

"Restoring Hope... Rebuilding Lives."

At Craniaaa, hope is not simply an emotion—it is the beginning of rehabilitation. Every assessment, every treatment session, and every milestone is built on the belief that people deserve every opportunity to improve their function, independence, and quality of life.

**Dr. Goshi's Personal Philosophy**

"I don't measure success by the conditions I treat; I measure it by the lives I help transform. My greatest commitment is to stand beside those who need help the most, especially when others believe there are no more answers.

Every person deserves compassion, dignity, respect, and the opportunity to reach their fullest potential."

"We get you better for tomorrow's living"

"The most terrible poverty is loneliness, and the feeling of being unloved."— Mother Teresa

These words remain as relevant today as ever.

A person may have financial security, a comfortable home, and access to every modern convenience, yet still experience profound loneliness. Human beings need more than food and shelter—we need love, meaningful relationships, purpose, and compassionate care.

Research has shown that chronic loneliness and social isolation are associated with an increased risk of cognitive decline and dementia. Large population studies have found that people who experience persistent loneliness have a significantly higher risk of developing dementia compared with those who maintain strong social connections. Loneliness is also linked to depression, anxiety, poor sleep, increased stress hormones, inflammation, and reduced overall brain health.

It is important to understand that loneliness does **not directly cause dementia**, but it is considered a significant modifiable risk factor that may contribute to cognitive decline over time. This highlights the importance of maintaining social engagement, physical activity, cognitive stimulation, and emotional wellbeing throughout life.

At Craniaa Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, we believe that neurological rehabilitation should treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis.

Our holistic approach focuses on:

* Individual neurological assessment and rehabilitation.
* Cognitive retraining and neuroplasticity-based therapies.
* Physical rehabilitation to improve mobility, balance, and independence.
* Emotional support and family involvement.
* Social engagement to reduce isolation and improve quality of life.
* Lifestyle advice including exercise, sleep, nutrition, and brain wellness.

One of the advanced therapies available at Craniaa is Photobiomodulation (PBM), also known as low-level light therapy.

Photobiomodulation uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to stimulate the mitochondria—the energy-producing structures within our cells. Research suggests that PBM may:
• Improve cellular energy (ATP production).
• Enhance cerebral blood flow.
• Reduce oxidative stress and neuroinflammation.
• Support neuroplasticity—the brain's ability to reorganise and form new connections.
• Promote healthier brain function and cognitive performance.

Emerging research also suggests that PBM may influence the activity of important neurotransmitter systems, including serotonin, dopamine, and other brain chemicals involved in mood, attention, motivation, learning, and memory. While this field continues to develop, these findings are encouraging and support further research into PBM as part of comprehensive neurological rehabilitation.

At Craniaa, we combine advanced technologies such as Quantitative EEG (QEEG) brain mapping, Photobiomodulation, neurological physiotherapy, cognitive rehabilitation, and personalised treatment programmes to optimise brain function and maximise each individual's rehabilitation potential.

The greatest medicine is often not found in a bottle—it begins with compassion, human connection, hope, and evidence-based rehabilitation.

Every conversation matters.
Every act of kindness matters.
Every opportunity to support brain health matters.

Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy – Don't Ignore the Early Warning Signs

Protect Your Feet Before It's Too Late

Many people with diabetes ignore the early signs of nerve damage, thinking they are "just part of getting older." Unfortunately, diabetic peripheral neuropathy can silently progress and lead to serious complications such as foot ulcers, infection, and even amputation.

Early Signs and Symptoms:

If you have diabetes, watch for these warning signs:

✔ Burning, itching, or irritation in the feet and lower legs.

✔ Pins and needles or tingling sensations, especially around the ankles and feet.

✔ A feeling of walking on cotton, wool, or soft cushions.

✔ Pain, redness, or increased sensitivity in the feet.

✔ Difficulty placing your feet comfortably on the floor.

✔ Numbness or reduced sensation in the feet.

If left untreated, these symptoms can progress to:

• Foot ulcers and slow-healing wounds.

• Serious infections.

• Weakness and wasting of the foot and leg muscles.

• Loss of balance and increased risk of falls.

• In severe cases, infection may spread, making amputation necessary to save the limb and, in some cases, the person's life.

Prevention Is Better Than Treatment

The good news is that many complications can be prevented.

✅ Keep your blood sugar under good control.

✅ Check your feet every day for cuts, blisters, redness, or swelling.

✅ Never walk barefoot.

✅ Wear appropriate diabetic footwear, such as Micro Cellular Rubber (MCR) sandals or shoes, to reduce pressure on your feet.

✅ Attend regular foot assessments and sensory examinations.

✅ Perform regular ankle and foot exercises to maintain strength, flexibility, and circulation.

✅ Stop smoking. Smoking reduces blood flow, damages blood vessels and nerves, delays healing, and greatly increases the risk of diabetic foot complications.

Modern Rehabilitation Can Help

At Craniaa Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, we provide comprehensive assessment and rehabilitation for people with diabetic neuropathy.

Our treatments may include:

• Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES)

• Photobiomodulation (Low-Level Laser Therapy)

• Pulsed Ultrasound Therapy

• Vacuum Therapy for swelling and circulation

• Individualised exercise programmes

• Balance and gait rehabilitation

• Education on diabetic foot care and prevention

Our aim is to improve circulation, maintain muscle strength, reduce pain, support nerve function, and help prevent long-term complications.

Remember: The best treatment for diabetic neuropathy is early detection and prevention.

Your feet carry you through life—look after them every day.

🤝 Connect and strengthen our global community so that no one faces cavernoma alone.

🌍Our Global Cavernoma Community continues to grow. This updated poster brings together the organisations and groups that make up our worldwide community.

Wherever we are, whatever language we speak, we share one vision:

💚 A future where cavernomas no longer bleed.

💪 Together we are stronger.
✨ Together we bring hope.
🤝 Together we will make a difference.
