🦷✨ Learning All About Oral Hygiene✨🦷
At Step One Services Limited, we recognise that oral hygiene is a fundamental part of overall health and wellbeing. We are committed to ensuring that the people we support understand the importance of maintaining good oral health and feel confident in managing their own daily care routines.
This week, service users participated in a structured oral hygiene session designed to promote knowledge, independence, and self-care skills.
They explored:
🦷 What oral hygiene means
🦷 Why oral hygiene is important for overall health
🦷 Identifying tools used for oral hygiene, such as a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss
🦷 Demonstrating proper toothbrushing techniques using the correct steps
🦷 The difference between healthy and unhealthy choices for our teeth
🦷 The consequences of not brushing teeth regularly
🦷 The importance of regular dental checkups and the consequences of not having regular check ups
✨ The session also included opportunities to demonstrate correct brushing techniques, helping to reinforce practical daily living skills. ✨
We are proud of the engagement shown throughout the session.
By embedding health education into our support, we continue to promote independence, confidence, and improved overall wellbeing for the people we support.
