👑 A very special visitor is coming to Newton House!

We’re delighted to be welcoming Miss Great Britain - Glasgow Paris Milne, to Newton House on Monday 24th August.

Paris will be spending time with our residents, getting to know everyone and delivering some lovely treats along the way. 💛

We’re really looking forward to welcoming her for what promises to be a wonderful afternoon!

A catch up with all the past activities here at Newton House!

Gardening Club was a great success. You can spot residents handywork around the gardens!

We had some fab entertainment where you see by the images residents used the dancefloor!

We also were treated to a fabulous Steamboat Presentation by one of our residents in the Cinema. This looks like it will develop into a more regular booking as residents loved listening to all his insider knowledge on the captains.

Adult Colouring is always a favourite in the cafe and selected work is showcased throughout the home. We have our excellent Volunteers learning dominoes from residents too.

Golf in Society were a hit as usual with residents showing off their skills.

Looking forward to our Alpaca's Visit this afternoon!! Picture overload next!

What a fantastic day at our Newton House Summer Fete! ☀️💜

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support us today. It was wonderful to see our home filled with Residents, Families, Friends, Volunteers, Local businesses, Team Newton and members of our community all coming together to make it such a special day.

There was something for everyone to enjoy – live entertainment, beautiful arts and crafts, professional baking, homemade jams, our tombola, teas and coffees, delicious ice cream, face painting, a bouncy castle, and even some amazing exotic animals!

Thanks to everyone's incredible generosity, we are delighted to say we raised £523 for Alzheimer's Scotland. Every penny will help support people living with dementia and their families.

Today was about so much more than fundraising. It was about laughter, making memories, bringing generations together, and showing exactly what the Newton House family is all about. We are incredibly proud of our Residents, our amazing Team, and every single person who helped make today such a success.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for proving once again that when our community comes together, wonderful things happen.

🧠💙 Memory Support Hub at Newton House 💙🧠

Join us on the first Friday of every month from 10:00am – 11:30am for our Memory Support Hub, a welcoming community event offering information, support and connection for anyone affected by dementia.

We're delighted to welcome Anne McWhinnie from Alzheimer Scotland as the guest speaker for our very first session. Anne will be delivering a Dementia Friends awareness session, helping attendees gain a greater understanding of dementia and how we can all make a positive difference in the lives of those living with the condition.

Whether you are living with dementia, supporting a loved one, caring for a family member, or working within memory and elderly care, you are warmly invited to attend.

Each session includes:

Residents have been enjoying a fantastic range of activities here at Newton House, from practising their hole in ones during our Golf in Society session, to strengthening during Fit-Baw, and expressing their creativity in our wonderful Art Class!

We are all set for our Gardening Club this afternoon in the cafe and you can see all our hardwork on show at the Summer Fayre this Saturday!

Today we’ve been featured in the Barrhead News — and our dementia‑friendly children’s colouring book is already a big hit with families at Newton House!

Little visitors have been loving the chance to colour, chat and feel more confident during their visits — and the feedback from families and our care teams has been amazing.

And just a reminder: everyone in our community is welcome to pop in for support, advice or simply a friendly chat.
Our colouring books are always available at reception — free to use, enjoy and take home for your next visit.

✅ Power Restored – Thank You! ✅

We’re pleased to let everyone know that power has now been fully restored at Newton House.

A huge thank you to our incredible team, who worked together throughout the outage to ensure our residents remained safe, comfortable, and well cared for. We’re also incredibly grateful to our residents, families, and the wider community for your patience, understanding, and support while we managed the situation.

Although the electricity is back on, we’re still working hard behind the scenes to recover from the disruption, reset systems, and return everything to normal. We appreciate your continued patience while we complete these final steps.

Thank you again to everyone who helped, supported, and showed kindness today. It truly means a great deal. 💙
