A Fantastic Day of Discovery at the Zoology Museum! 🐾🦋

What a wonderful day out Janette, Catherine, and Catherine's daughter, Avril, enjoyed at the Zoology Museum at the University of Glasgow!

The trio spent the day exploring an incredible collection of exhibits, from towering skeletons and fascinating fossils to beautifully preserved animals from across the globe. Every corner of the museum offered something new to discover, sparking plenty of conversation, curiosity, and smiles along the way.

Janette particularly enjoyed learning about the different animals and reading the interesting facts throughout the museum, while Catherine loved taking her time exploring the exhibits and getting involved in the interactive activities. It was especially lovely to see Avril sharing this special experience with her mum, creating meaningful memories together. 💕

Days like these provide fantastic opportunities to learn new things, spend quality time with loved ones, and enjoy enriching experiences outside the home.

A special thank you to our colleagues, Mandy and Brooke, whose support helped make the outing such a happy and memorable success for everyone involved.

Gin Afternoon at Mearns House 🍋🍸

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful Gin Afternoon, filled with laughter, great conversation and a refreshing selection of gins and mixers.

From classic favourites to fruity flavours, everyone had the chance to relax, socialise and raise a glass together. It was lovely to see so many smiling faces enjoying the day, sharing stories and making more special memories.

A lovely, relaxing day at Mearns House as we enjoyed our weekly yoga session, this week with Fiona. 🧘‍♀️💚

Everyone had a fantastic time taking part, enjoying gentle stretches, improving flexibility, and focusing on relaxation. The session was a wonderful opportunity to slow down, unwind, and enjoy some peaceful moments together.

There were plenty of smiles throughout the morning, and everyone left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and ready for the rest of the day.

A big thank you to Fiona for another enjoyable yoga session. We’re already looking forward to next Thursday! 😊🧘‍♂️

What a fantastic day out for Brian and John as they enjoyed a tour of Ibrox Stadium, with Brian’s brother David joining them for the special trip. ⚽

The group had a wonderful time exploring the stadium, taking in the history of the club, and getting a behind-the-scenes look at one of Scotland’s most iconic football grounds. There were lots of smiles, great conversations, and plenty of memories shared throughout the day.

Having David there made the visit even more special, giving Brian the chance to enjoy the experience alongside his brother while spending quality time together.

It was a brilliant day filled with football, friendship, and making lasting memories. We’re so pleased everyone had such an enjoyable visit! 💛

What a wonderful afternoon at Mearns House as we enjoyed a lovely cheese and wine gathering together. 🧀🍷

With Neil Diamond playing in the background, everyone relaxed, chatted, sang along to some favourite songs, and enjoyed spending quality time together. The music brought back lots of happy memories and created such a warm and joyful atmosphere.

One of the most heartwarming moments of the afternoon was seeing the ladies sitting together, holding hands and singing along with big smiles on their faces. It was a truly special moment that reminded us how music can bring people together and create lasting memories.

A lovely afternoon filled with laughter, friendship, music, and special moments to treasure. 🎶

International Picnic Day at Mearns House 🧺🌞

What a fantastic day we had celebrating International Picnic Day here at Mearns House! It was wonderful to see so many of our residents, families and colleagues coming together to enjoy the beautiful sunshine in our garden.

With delicious mocktails flowing, great music filling the air and plenty of laughter, everyone enjoyed spending quality time together, making special memories and celebrating the joy of companionship.

A huge thank you to Scott and our amazing kitchen team for preparing a delicious picnic buffet that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Your hard work helped make the day extra special.

A big shout-out also goes to our Activities Team for organising such a wonderful event and to all our colleagues for helping create such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Seeing residents, families and colleagues relaxing, chatting and enjoying each other's company is what Mearns House is all about.

What a wonderful Wednesday at Mearns House! ☀️💃

It was time for our usual dance fit session with Claire, and with the beautiful sunshine shining, we took the fun out into the garden. Everyone enjoyed moving to the music, joining in with the routines, and getting some fresh air while keeping active.

There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and great energy throughout the session, with everyone encouraging each other and having a fantastic time together.

A lovely way to enjoy the sunshine, stay active, and brighten everyone’s day. We hope everyone else enjoyed the sunshine too!

What a wonderful day out for some of our ladies and gents as they enjoyed a visit to the Burrell Collection. 🌿

Everyone had a lovely time exploring the fascinating exhibitions, admiring the beautiful artwork, and taking in the peaceful surroundings. There were lots of conversations about the different displays, with plenty to see and enjoy throughout the visit.

To round off a fantastic day, everyone enjoyed a well-earned ice cream, which was the perfect treat in the lovely weather. 🍦☀️

It was a day filled with smiles, laughter, great company, and making special memories together. We look forward to our next adventure!
