Mia might already be a familiar face to some of our patients, as she spent time with us at New Wave during her physiotherapy studies — shadowing the team, providing sports massages and even helping out on reception. We’re delighted that she has now returned to join us as a qualified physiotherapist!
Mia recently completed her BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy, gaining experience across a range of clinical areas including musculoskeletal physiotherapy, rehabilitation, paediatrics and neurological care. She has also completed her Sports Massage qualification, adding to her hands-on treatment skills and experience in exercise-based rehabilitation.
Her passion for physiotherapy grew from her love of sport. Having always been active through dance, netball, running and the gym, Mia understands first-hand how frustrating an injury can be when it stops you doing the things you enjoy.
Whether it’s getting back to sport, returning to the gym, recovering from an injury, managing ongoing pain or simply wanting to move and feel better, Mia enjoys getting to know what matters to each person and creating a treatment plan that works towards their individual goals.
Having experienced New Wave as a student, Mia already knew she loved the clinic’s friendly atmosphere, patient-centred approach and supportive team environment, making it a natural place for her to begin her career as a qualified physiotherapist.
Outside of work, Mia loves keeping active at the gym, spending time with family and friends, exploring new hiking trails and getting away for a weekend whenever she gets the chance.
Mia is excited to officially be part of the New Wave team and is looking forward to helping our patients move better, feel stronger and get back to doing the things they love.
