People with learning disabilities can experience poorer health outcomes and often face barriers to accessing healthcare.

To help address this, Annual Health Checks are now embedded as a core service within NHS Borders Learning Disability Services. The checks support earlier identification of health needs, improve access to healthcare and help reduce health inequalities.

In 2024/25, 191 Annual Health Checks were completed across NHS Borders. We're now working towards completing 400 checks by March 2027, helping more people benefit from proactive, person-centred care.

Read the full update linked below to learn more about the changes that have been implemented and the impact so far.

โ˜€๏ธ This Week's Breastfeeding Groups โ˜€๏ธ

We hope everyone is enjoying the summer weather and keeping well hydrated! ๐Ÿ’ง

Remember, breastfeeding is thirsty work. During warmer weather, it's important for breastfeeding mothers to listen to their bodies and drink regularly throughout the day. Keeping a drink close by during feeds can be a helpful reminder to stay hydrated.

If you're joining one of our breastfeeding groups this week, why not bring along your water bottle and take a moment to relax, connect with other parents, and access support in a welcoming environment.

We look forward to seeing you all and hearing how you and your little ones are getting on.
