Alan James Barlow of Mill Close, Newtown, formerly of Severn Street, Caersws passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side in the War Memorial Hospital, Llanidloes on Friday, 24th July, aged 86 years.

Much loved dad and father in law of Jackie & Bill and Mandy & Mark, dearly loved grandad of Alice and Joe and a dear brother to Tony.

Funeral service at Caersws Presbyterian Church on Friday, 21st August at 2pm followed by burial in Llanwnog cemetery.

It was Alan’s wish that you wear bright, colourful clothing and you come with a smile.

With sadness the family announce the death of Rev’d Canon Bryan Jones formerly Vicar of Kerry and Rector of Newtown, All Saints, Llanllwchaiarn and Aberhafesp churches.

He was known as a friend and priest to many, but we remember him as a loving, kind and very funny family man. He was always a person of great compassion, honesty and integrity and these values were lived by him every day.

Husband to the late Margaret Jones, Dad to Sara and Richard and Taid to Alys, Phoebe, Tilly, Freya, Joel and Harvey. He was much loved by all of us and we will miss him so much.

Bryan planned his funeral and said we should attend in as cheerful a mood as possible and give thanks.

We will be celebrating his life at his funeral at Llanllwchaiarn Parish Church on Thursday 6 August at 1:00pm followed afterwards by a tea at All Saints Church, Newtown.

Family flowers only please. Donations are either to All Saints and Llanllwchaiarn Parish Churches, or to support the international humanitarian medical work of Medecins Sans Frontieres.

The needs of the church at home, and the needs of people around the world in fraught and dangerous situations were both very important to Bryan. His private bequests also reflect that breadth of care and concern for all humanity.
