A huge thank you to Wilson for making two beautiful lino printing presses for Extern. His kindness, generosity, and skill are greatly appreciated. Three days to go to our Light Within wellbeing day! Joining us on the day is Lorraine Hogan is a wellness coach, women’s empowerment facilitator, social care practitioner and founder of Cacao Croí. With over 25 years’ experience supporting wellbeing, Lorraine combines her background in yoga, breathwork, mindfulness and holistic healing to create heart-led spaces for connection, reflection and transformation.

Passionate about women’s health, community and Celtic traditions, Lorraine is also the founder of Festival Mná, Ireland’s women’s wellness festival, and creator of the MyZenOpause Journey supporting women through peri-menopause and menopause.

Her cacao ceremonies are grounded, nurturing and deeply restorative — inviting participants to slow down, reconnect with themselves and embrace the power of community, intention and self-care.

✨ From ancestral memory to modern-day magic ✨

My Brat Bhríde is an award-winning Irish community initiative that breathes new life into the ancient folk tradition of St. Brigid’s healing mantle.

Founded by artist Rita O’Loughlin, this beautiful project is coming to our Light Within wellbeing day. It brings people of all generations together to upcycle preloved textiles into sacred shawls of comfort, protection, and care. 🧵

In an incredible milestone, An Post recognized this vital cultural work by hanging a massive collective Brat Bhríde—handcrafted by the community—inside the historic GPO (General Post Office) in Dublin, alongside commemorative postcards celebrating the project! 🏛️📬

🌿 The Tradition:
Centuries ago, a cloth (Brat Bhríde) was left outside on St. Brigid’s Eve (31st January) to be blessed by the passing saint or goddess with the morning dew. Brought inside before sunrise, it was kept all year to soothe headaches, ease sickness, and protect loved ones.

🌿 The Modern Revival:
The project transforms unwanted scarves into modern heirlooms using colourful wool spirals, blending sustainability with sacred heritage. These mantles cannot be bought—they are created in community stitch circles, weaving a legacy of care back together.
