Clinical progress following post-operative soft tissue rehabilitation.

These before and after images demonstrate changes in tissue presentation following a treatment session aimed at supporting post-surgical recovery.

Following body contouring procedures, it is common to observe oedema, tissue congestion and reduced tissue glide as part of the normal inflammatory and healing response. If these changes persist, they may contribute to discomfort, restricted movement and delayed soft tissue remodelling.

Treatment objectives included:
• Assessment of tissue congestion and restriction.
• Supporting physiological lymphatic drainage.
• Improving superficial fascial mobility and tissue glide.
• Reducing areas of tissue density and promoting more uniform tissue texture.
• Supporting optimal scar maturation and soft tissue remodelling.

The post-treatment image demonstrates a softer tissue presentation, improved tissue uniformity across the lower back and a visible reduction in tissue congestion. While ongoing healing will continue over many months, appropriate intervention during recovery can help optimise tissue quality and improve patient comfort.

To say I am beyond proud is an understatement. A lot of hard work and dedication has ended in a fantastic week finishing off my Post Operative Manual Lymphatic Therapy training in Berkshire Clinic with highlights of live thigh lift surgery, access to a surgeon to answer questions and a wealth of knowledge from The Aftercare Academy.

This now means that I am the only therapist in Northern Ireland (apart from Petra) with this level of training in post operative care.

This means when you book your post op appointment with me, you don’t just get treatment. I will assess your compression garment and fit foams if required, I will use K Tape when appropriate and I will support you through your recovery safely.

If you’re planning cosmetic or reconstructive surgery, your recovery is just as important as your procedure.

At GMB Holistic Therapies, I provide post-operative manual lymphatic treatments designed to support your body’s natural healing process. Treatment may help to reduce swelling, improve comfort, and encourage healthy tissue recovery as you heal.

I also offer:

📏 Pre-surgery compression garment measuring – ensuring you have the correct size before your operation can make a real difference to your comfort and recovery.

🩹 Foam fitting and adjustments – if your compression garment isn’t fitting quite right, I can fit specialist foams to help improve comfort, reduce pressure points, and achieve a better fit where appropriate.

Every recovery is different, so all advice and treatment are tailored to your individual needs and stage of healing.
