Today is Lughnasadh , In the Celtic tradition, Lughnasadh is the harvest festival, specifically the first harvest of the year,
is a time to ask:
* 🌾 What have I grown or nurtured since spring?
* 🙏 What am I grateful for?
* ✂️ What needs to be harvested, completed, or released?
* 🌻 How can I share the abundance I’ve received with others?
It’s a celebration of community, feasting, storytelling, music, athletic contests, and giving thanks for the earth’s abundance.
Today I have celebrated my abundance,
from gathering kale from my garden for breakfast.
To giving it my all in a work out💚
at one point this morning all my boys and their lovely girlfriends were all in the house at the same time 💪🏾( parents of older kids will understand this is the BEST 🤩)
Then I’d a friend round and we’d a special ritual in my garden 🪴
I dug up my spuds and harvested some camomile.
Now I’m in the bath. 🛁
Feeling so full of gratitude for it all
So thought I’d post a wee prompt
for those of you who like to do a bit of
Journalling about the “harvest” in your own life
not just food, but relationships, healing, work, and personal growth.
It’s a beautiful festival because it reminds us that every harvest began with a seed planted months before.
Today is about honouring both the fruits of your efforts and the cycles of nature that made them possible.
💚 huge love and gratitude
