When every second counts, what triage system should we be using?

Do we simply copy what our local NHS Trusts are doing and adopt whichever system they use, whether that's traditional triage tags or slap bands? Or should we tailor our own approach to what works best in the event and private medical sector?

There are arguments for both. NHS services often develop systems based on regional interoperability and established pathways. However, event and private providers operate in very different environments, often requiring rapid identification, flexibility and solutions that fit the resources available on scene.

Should we follow the NHS model for consistency? Or should we develop systems that best suit the realities of our own sector?

Well that’s the end of the Norfolk & Norwich Festival we covered over 450 hours staff hours with us having a medical centre in the festival gardens.

It was an amazing festival with international artists and local bands together, bringing entertainment to our fine city.

It has been one busy weekend for the team at Catapult Services, providing medical cover across multiple events throughout the region.

From planned deployments to responding at short notice when another medical provider failed to attend an event, our teams stepped in to ensure organisers and members of the public still had access to safe, professional medical care.

Our crews have been delivering frontline ambulance cover, rapid response vehicles and experienced clinicians to help keep events running safely while providing high standards of patient care throughout the weekend.

A huge thank you to all of our staff who have worked tirelessly across long hours and multiple locations to support our clients and communities.

Over this weekend, Catapult Services is proud to be providing a frontline ambulance and response car in support of the Norfolk & Norwich Festival, helping to keep festival-goers, performers, staff, and volunteers safe throughout the event.

With the festival spread across multiple venues and locations, our teams are providing additional medical cover while the festival is ongoing, ensuring rapid response and professional care is available throughout the weekend for anyone who may become unwell or injured.

As a CQC regulated provider, we are committed to delivering safe, professional, and responsive care at every event we support. Large-scale festivals require detailed planning, strong communication, and experienced medical teams to help events run safely and smoothly for everyone attending.

A huge thank you to all of our staff working across the festival this weekend for their professionalism, dedication, and continued hard work supporting the local community.

💜 Project Caroline 💜
Three years ago, Caroline, our founder’s mum, passed away at just 59, leaving behind a legacy of kindness that continues to inspire our work today.

She was kind, selfless, and always put others first. Her compassion and strength are the very values that live on in everything we do today.
In her memory, we are proud to launch Project Caroline.

This project is dedicated to raising funds for a new ambulance that will support our adult wish service, working alongside our children’s service, amBEARlance. Together, these services will ensure that both adults and children facing the end of life can experience one final, meaningful journey — surrounded by dignity, care, and love.

Right now, demand for our service is growing, and having our own dedicated ambulance will mean:

It’s been a busy sporting weekend for Catapult Services! 🚑

Across multiple sporting events across the Home Counties and the East of England our teams have treated over 100 patients, providing on-site care with fully equipped ambulances and experienced paramedics at every location, including some advanced paramedics.

By managing injuries on scene — including wound closure with glue and steri-strips — and utilising alternative care pathways where appropriate, we’ve helped reduce unnecessary hospital visits and taken pressure off the NHS.

We’d also like to wish everyone who was injured a speedy recovery — we hope to see you back doing what you love soon. 💪
