The daily juggle! Because apparently doing one thing at a time is far too easy!

Coffee in one hand, keyboard in the other, pen in his mouth, receiving calls left right and centre, 867 unopened emails… and approximately a further 37 jobs all happening at once! 😂🤹‍♂️

We are back after a few well deserved days off (Jim did and up working on holiday for an afternoon for one of our wonderful clients). After a busy morning of catching up, we are ahead of the game!

Yesterday saw a Coote Safety Group first for this generation!

When we relocated the company to Norfolk in 2015 our Managing Director Jim used to go out on site visits with Keith and Belinda (his parents), and yesterday saw that torch pass down as Jim alongside his wife (and colleague) took their daughter Imogen out to a site visit in Hemel Hampstead!

Imogen joined the team back in June and has really thrown herself into the world of Health and Safety!

We couldn’t resist getting a cheeky picture!!

🛠️ SOME THINGS ARE IRREPLACEABLE. PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR COLLEAGUES! 🧤

You are your most valuable tool and unlike a hammer or screwdriver, you can’t simply be replaced.

Before starting a task, take a moment to ask yourself:

🔧 Am I using the right tool for the job?
🧤 Am I wearing the correct PPE?
🔍 Have I checked my tools and equipment for damage?
⚠️ Do I understand the hazards associated with the task?
🚫 Am I keeping my working area clear and tidy?

Never rush a job or take shortcuts when it comes to safety. The few seconds you save by skipping a step or using the wrong equipment could result in an injury that lasts a lifetime.

Your hands are among your most valuable tools and unlike a hammer or screwdriver, they can’t simply be replaced.

Cuts, burns, crush injuries and puncture wounds can happen in seconds when the wrong tool is used, equipment is damaged, or the correct PPE isn’t worn.

Before starting a task, take a moment to ask yourself:

🔧 Am I using the right tool for the job?
🧤 Am I wearing the correct gloves and PPE?
🔍 Have I checked my tools and equipment for damage?
⚠️ Do I understand the hazards associated with the task?
🚫 Am I keeping my hands away from moving, sharp or hot surfaces?

🔥 FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS. BE FIRE-READY, SAVE LIVES! 🚒

Fire safety isn’t just about knowing where the fire extinguisher is, it’s about recognising hazards before they become emergencies.

⚠️ Spot the hazards: Switch off unused appliances, avoid overloading sockets, and keep flammable materials away from heat sources.

🚪 Know your escape routes: Make sure you know where the emergency exits are and keep escape routes clear. In the event of a fire, use the stairs rather than lifts.

🎒 Have an emergency kit: A torch, mask, whistle, water and important documents can be useful in an emergency. Keep your kit somewhere accessible and close to an exit.

💨 Protect yourself from smoke: Smoke can be just as dangerous as the fire itself. Stay as low as possible and cover your mouth and nose.

👨‍🚒 Trust the professionals: Follow firefighters’ instructions and, once you are out, never go back inside.

A few minutes of preparation today could make a life-saving difference tomorrow. Take fire safety seriously. Stay alert, stay prepared and keep yourself and others safe.
