✨️ Glimmers ✨

In therapy, we often focus on what feels difficult, overwhelming or unsafe, but, it can be equally important to notice the small moments that bring a sense of calm, connection or safety.

In the warmth of sunlight on your skin.
In the sound of birdsong, children laughing or rain on a window.
In laughter that catches you by surprise.
In the moment you realise you feel safe enough to simply be.

These are glimmers. Small moments of safety, joy and comfort that gently remind the nervous system that not every moment has to be survived.

We often learn to notice what hurts but maybe the healing asks us to notice what soothes.

Pause when something feels good.
Let yourself take it in.
Let the moment matter.

Because sometimes, the smallest moments of safety become the quietest beginnings of healing. 🤍

I saw this picture and it really stayed with me.

When children learn that love is conditional, they often grow into adults who believe they must earn connection rather than simply receive it.

Children develop their sense of safety and self worth through their caregivers. When love, attention or approval is only available when they're been "good," successful or helpful, this sets that internal belief as their foundation.

This can show up in adulthood as people pleasing, fear of disappointing others, seeking praise or reassurance and difficulty saying no.

Healing begins when we realise that our worth isn't measured by our productivity, perfection or ability to keep everyone happy.

Secure relationships teach us a different lesson. That you don't have to perform to be loved.

You are worthy of love simply because you exist.

Everything is a choice.

Not always what happens to you but how you respond, what you hold onto, what you release and who you allow into your life.

Some choices are easy, while others are made one small step at a time.

Choosing peace doesn't mean ignoring pain. Choosing boundaries doesn't mean you're unkind. Choosing yourself doesn't mean you're selfish.

Your life is shaped by the choices you practice every day, not just the ones you make once.

Healing isn't one big decision. It's a thousand quiet choices that no one applauds.

Happy first day of Summer ☀️

Growth doesn't always happen in dramatic ways. Sometimes it's found in small choices, quiet moments and the resilience you've shown along the way. As the days become brighter, give yourself permission to enjoy the present, celebrate your progress and try to make space for what brings you peace.

This post if for whoever needs to see it right now!!

I’m proud of you for the small moments that no one else sees:

For getting out of bed when your mind felt heavy.
For answering the text.
For trying again after disappointment.
For showing up even when you are tired.
For carrying things you don't always talk about.
For choosing softness instead of shutting down.

Healing is rarely loud or dramatic, most of it happens quietly in ordinary moments. Try not to focus on the negatives, don't let those small wins pass you by.

Those moments count more than you think.

Spiralling thoughts can feel overwhelming, as though your mind is racing faster than you can keep up. Thoughts are not facts and they’re not permanent.

When you notice yourself spiralling try to gently pause and name what’s happening “I’m having a lot of anxious thoughts right now.” That small shift can create space between you and the intensity.

Be patient with yourself. The goal isn’t to eliminate difficult thoughts but to learn how to move through them with more awareness and less fear.
