**You don’t have to wait until things get worse before talking to someone.**

Maybe you’ve been telling yourself you’ll deal with it.

Maybe you’re keeping busy, pushing things down, or hoping it’ll sort itself out.

But if something keeps coming back, there’s usually a reason.

Counselling gives you a confidential, judgement-free space to talk openly, make sense of what’s going on, and work out what *you* want to do next.

No scripts. No telling you how to live your life. Just an honest conversation and a space that’s yours.

**Ready to talk?**

💚

Sometimes counselling isn’t about being told what to do. It’s about having the space to slow things down, explore what’s going on, and begin seeing things from a different perspective.

Really appreciate feedback like this:

“Jack is a great listener and offers me different perspectives to help me frame my thoughts better.”

If you feel stuck in your own thoughts or patterns, counselling can give you a confidential space to talk things through without judgement.

THIS IS NOT OK.
If your attachment system goes into overdrive and you find yourself:
• Checking your phone every few minutes...
• Assuming the worst because someone hasn't replied...
• Sending message after message...
• Needing constant reassurance...
• Accusing your partner before you know the facts...
It isn't healthy.
Not for you.
Not for your partner.
Not for your relationship.
The good news?
You can learn to regulate it.
✔️ Pause before reacting.
✔️ Name the emotion you're feeling.
✔️ Challenge the story your mind is creating.
✔️ Calm your nervous system before sending the text.
✔️ Remember that feelings aren't always facts.
Anxious attachment isn't a life sentence.
With self-awareness, practice and, when needed, therapy, you can build a more secure way of relating to yourself and others.
Your attachment style may explain your behaviour... but it doesn't excuse it.

Avoidant attachment is not about someone having no needs.

Often, it is about learning to suppress those needs.

Someone may want closeness, reassurance, and emotional safety, but feel uncomfortable, trapped, or overwhelmed when those things are actually offered.

This can create a painful pattern in relationships:

One person reaches for connection.
The other pulls away to feel safe.
Both people end up feeling hurt, misunderstood, or rejected.

The challenge is that the discomfort may not always be recognised as coming from the attachment pattern itself. Instead, the relationship — or the partner — can become the thing that gets blamed.

Understanding attachment is not about blame.

It is about recognising patterns, slowing things down, and learning healthier ways of relating.

Some days, the minimum is all you have to give—and that’s okay. 💚

Showing up looks different every day. Rest when you need to, give yourself some grace, and remember: a small step forward is still progress.

Today, what you can give is enough.

What could you do today that your future self would thank you for?

Maybe it is prioritising yourself for once.

Maybe it is setting a healthy boundary.

Maybe it is saying “no” when you would usually say “yes.”

Maybe it is choosing progress over perfection.

Maybe it is taking one small step towards the life you want.

It doesn’t always have to be a huge life-changing decision.

Sometimes it starts with one small choice that quietly says:

“I matter too.”

Testimonial Tuesday 💬

Not everyone wants therapy to feel structured, clinical or like they are being led through a set programme.

Person-centred counselling gives you the space to talk about what matters to you, at your own pace, while feeling genuinely heard and understood.

Thank you for this lovely feedback.

I’ve recently updated my website and added some new counselling options.

Alongside standard pay-as-you-go sessions, I now also offer block bookings and monthly subscription options for those who want more regular support.

I work online with adults and couples, offering a calm, honest, and supportive space to talk things through properly.

Feel free to have a look at the new website, and if counselling feels like something you are ready for, you can book directly online or send me a message.

Some days life just feels too much.

Stress.
Pressure.
Overthinking.
Everything building up at once.

You don’t have to deal with it alone.

Talking to someone who listens without judgement can make a real difference.

If you feel like you need to talk, I offer online counselling sessions you can access from wherever you feel most comfortable.

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
— Carl Rogers

Change doesn’t start with forcing ourselves to be different.
It often begins with understanding and accepting where we are right now.
