It’s day 2 of and we’re encouraging everyone to help build carer friendly communities.

Carers told us what they thought the biggest benefit of being part of a carer friendly community would be. They rated feeling valued, happier and feeling less stressed as the most important ones.

Read our new report to find out more about the difference carer friendly communities make. https://bit.pulse.ly/gqaaqc3pp4

Carers Week (8-14th June) is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.

You can let us know you are a carer by using the prioryCARE form and choose the General Enquiries tile. You can also call our Patient Central team or speak to one of our Patient Care Navigators at reception sites who can update your records.

It is useful to know if you are a carer as we can then make sure we provide you with support where needed and invite you to have a flu jab each year.

This pride month we want to highlight ways we are improving access to healthcare for our LGBTQIA+ community.

Tory (Senior Practice Nurse) is shaping the way we offer cervical screening (smear tests) for non-binary patients and trans men.

Great news for people using the Nexplanon implant for contraception. The license has now been extended from 3 to 5 years. If you currently have an implant, you don't need an exchange as soon.

The Nexplanon® implant is now licensed for 5 years in the UK, following strong evidence showing it remains safe and effective, with no pregnancies reported in years 4–5 of use.

This gives women more choice and flexibility when considering their contraceptive options, while reducing unnecessary appointments.

Bowel cancer is one of the most common cancers in the UK.

Bowel cancer screening is a test you do at home that checks for signs of bowel cancer. It's offered to people aged 50 to 74. It uses a test called a faecal immunochemical test (FIT) to look for blood in a sample of your poo. This could be a sign of bowel cancer.

You collect the sample at home and send it by post to be tested.

It can help find cancer early, and before you have any symptoms, which may mean it's easier to treat
