⭐⭐ Throwback March 2026 ⭐⭐

It's emotional, the moment Sowerby House Care Home were announced Care Home of the Year. This is our Home Administrator and Chef Walter Kelsey taking the award. Behind the scenes is a leader Marie Adams, giving her support and keeping our residents safe.

They come in as one, but they definitely become family, every stressful moment where we become their calm, every panic or confusion, we are there for them. The hugs, the smiles and kisses. Let's keep looking after the amazing!! ♥️

🌞🌞Well that's wrap heatwave number 5, you have been a warm one! We have had a lovely church service, cakes galore (we just can't get enough of this baking), scones precisely buttered by Norma, there is an art to it you see 👁️👁️ and some relaxation with coloring and flower arranging 💐💐

Competition heated up in a game of bowls, down to two residents in the heat 😉☀️

Does anyone just listen?? 👂🏻👂🏻👂🏻

Listen to the sounds of birds 🐦‍⬛🐦, the sounds of nature, sound of water 💦 or even the sound of nothing......peace.

Sometimes life for our residents can feel hectic, chaotic, we all get angry, we all get Monday blues, we all want to escape from life from time to time.

So we go outside and listen....to nothing. Peace, tranquility and calm. Refresh and start again.

We had to indulge ourselves this weekend with some baking from Debra Hullah, crikey she makes a good cake, maybe she is now in the running for Star Baker at Sowerby House Care Home.....🤔🤔🤔

We kept ourselves busy with some crafts, painting and a good olde game of bingo....66 clicktey-click and just like that we were having our nails painted in a little pamper session.

On Sunday we joined Thirsk and Sowerby Festival on the Flatts for the day. It was a scorcher to say the least, apart from that what a lovely community we have and we were very grateful to be part of it showcasing our home 🏠🏠
