We’ve been keeping something behind the lab door…

For quite some time, we’ve been asking a question.

Who says hot chocolate is just for women?!

I know so many men who enjoy a lovely cuppa hot chocolate so let’s share the love of chocolate and get 2 bags so you don’t have to share!

And the second piece of news I have is that with the work we are doing on the formulation for the hot chocolate in pod format we are now able to celebrate that the work for a compostable pod is ALSO underway… yes we will have an aluminium pod but in parallel we are working together a compostable no waste pod as well so we can keep our sustainability goals on track.

It’s super exciting to see what is out there and I’m am like a kid in a sweet shop when we discuss the properties we are looking at, some might surprise you!

But for now we are a go and when we have narrowed it down a little bit more I will share more for you, in the meantime time if you have any hints or tips you would like to share in the sustainability side I’d love to hear them!

On one of the hottest days of the year.

Well... We’ve just listed hot chocolate in a new farm shop on one of the hottest days of the year. ☀️🍫

Excellent timing, Carole. 😂
But actually...
Perhaps it is.
I’m so happy to say that you can now find 80Noir_Ultra at Beadlam Grange Farm Shop, Helmsley.
And we’ve brought options...

🍫 50% - smooth, creamy and glorious as cold chocolate milk
🍫 72% - my summer all-rounder. Over ice, blended or gloriously hot
🍫 87.5% - dark, rich and ridiculous poured over vanilla ice cream
🍫 100% - pure cacao for those who like their chocolate seriously chocolatey

Because apparently chocolate is supposed to disappear when the sun comes out.
We’re ignoring that rule.
Make chocolate milk.
Pour it over ice.
Blend it.
Make a chocolate affogato.
Freeze it.
Take it home and invent something I haven’t thought of yet.

Chocolate doesn’t have a season. Your ritual does.

Do you actually want coffee in the morning?

Or do you drink it because that’s simply what mornings look like?

Wake up.

Coffee.

Start work.

Coffee.

Need to focus.

Coffee.

We’ve given coffee a very clear job in our lives.

But chocolate?

Apparently that’s a sugary treat you drink at Christmas.

The more I work with high-cacao chocolate, the more I question the categories we’ve built around our drinks.

Because my morning ritual is often chocolate.

Not marshmallows.

Not whipped cream.

Not a mug of sugar.

High cacao. Less sugar. A few quiet minutes before the day starts.

And yes… sometimes before training too.

Maybe chocolate doesn’t need to replace coffee for everyone.

But perhaps it deserves to be part of the morning conversation.

So I’m curious.

Do you drink coffee in the morning because you genuinely love it…

or because it’s habit?
