Tomorrow’s (05.17) Dog Days Moon and Lunar Eclipse in Pisces will bring quiet closure to something that you’ve been working through, learning or dealing with since 2022 and it represents the most major phase of completion in all of 2026.

Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, and beyond being made up of each of the other 11 signs, it also is known to be the closest to the divine and a meaning of completion; coming full circle.

A lunar eclipse is a powerful time for transformation. As the Moon is temporarily darkened by the Earth’s shadow, hidden emotions and subconscious patterns can rise to the surface. It is a potent opportunity to reflect, release, and invite change.

Bright Blessings my lovelies …..

Today we remember our sisters on what is the three hundred and forty fourth anniversary of their horrifying deaths

The earliest surviving record of witchcraft in Bideford was back in 1658 concerning Grace Ellyott. After standing trial at Exeter assizes she was acquitted.

In 1671 Temperence Lloyd of Bideford was first accused of killing William Herbert by witchcraft but was also acquitted. Then in 1679 she was again accused of practising witchcraft on Anne Fellow. However, after she had been searched and papers filed no further action was taken.

In 1610 Bideford had been granted a charter by James I to run their judicial system separately. ‘Sessions of the peace’ could be convened whenever any of the elected Justices were called upon to investigate instances of murder, felonies, sorceries, dark arts and witchcraft.

Temperence was arrested again on 1st July 1682 due to a complaint brought against her by Thomas Eastchurch a local shop keeper. After being arrested she was held in the old chapel that used to be at the end of the current medieval bridge. Her body was searched for sign of the witch and she was interrogated by investigators and accusers. After much heresay and purely circumstantial evidence that included a magpie on her windowsill, she was committed to the gaol in Exeter on 8th July to await trial at at assizes.

On Tuesday 18 July, Mary Trembles was denounced to the authorities of the town and consequently arrested, together with her companion Susanna Edwards following further superstition and finger pointing. ‘Confessions’ were extracted through bullying, intimidation and withholding food and water etc and they joined Temperence in Exeter Gaol in 19th July.

The trial took place at Exeter Castle on the 14th August. Witchcraft, because of its secret and almost unprovable nature, was considered a crime and suspicion alone was sufficient grounds for accusation. The evidence against them was full and fanciful and held a lot of weight due to the high positions held by many of the accusers in Bideford.

The three women were found guilty and were sentenced to be hanged on Friday 25 August 1682 before a large crowd at Heavitree outside Exeter. The interest was greatly fuelled by the fact that three elderly women from the country were being brought into town in these charges.

Temperance Lloyd, Mary Trembles and Susanna Edwards paid with their lives for purely for the suspicion of witchcraft and malicious gossip by townsfolk. The memory of the 1682 lingered on in Bideford long afterwards. Tradition said that the three witches lived in a thatched cottage in Old Town which was burnt down in 1894, of which one photograph remains (see below).

THE LAST WITCHES OF ENGLAND ….. by John Callow is a wonderfully researched telling of the sad tale. During the 1600’s, Bideford was prosperous however there were many people who were extremely poor, especially women. I highly recommend this read which I read from cover to cover in one sitting then began again in earnest.

Often blamed for misfortune women throughout England were accused of witchcraft. The Pendle Witches in Lancashire hung in 1612, 70 years earlier, were also poor and had to beg to survive. By the late 1600’s however there was beginning to be a shift in the awareness of the fraudulent character of many of the accusations against these helpless women. Unfortunately for Temperance Lloyd, Susannah Edwards and Mary Trembles this awareness came too late.

Yesterday evening Emma Louise Holistic Therapy and I decided to adventure into town after a busy day of seeing clients. Chips on the beach were in the menu before a walk back to camp for sunset.

I had the BEST sleep last night and I’ve treated myself to a fabulous reading with palmistry this morning from Craig

Huge thank you to my lovely friend Sue, of Soaring Star Trading for bringing together a wonderful group of beings for this fabulous first event. I know how much hard work, blood, sweat and tears goes into events like this so it’s important to recognise everything she’s poured into it. Thank you Sue.

Hello and welcome back to SaltwaterGaia on wheels …..

After a stunning drive through Exmoor yesterday and being able to stop off and feel that change in the air I arrived at Minehead Rugby Club. For once I’m already set up and camped onsite overnight in Turtle.

It was a beautiful evening with dinner cooked on the gas fire, an excellent book I’m finishing and gearing the sounds of nature preparing for rest.

As I write this the coffee is brewing and the sun is rising, the birds are greeting the day and all is right in this little corner of Somerset.

Autumn is the air my lovelies; she’s here!

The event here is free to park and free to enter. We open from 10 today and tomorrow, closing at 5 today and 4 on Sunday.

The Lion’s Gate Portal has been steadily opening since the 28th July and on Saturday (8/8) the gates are wide open, sharing their downloads of wisdom until 12th August.

The Lion’s Gate Portal is triggered when Sirius is closest to the Earth and aligns with the Spiritual Sun in Leo. Sirius, the Dog Star (incidentally the name of Keanu’s band) is the brightest star in the sky at night. In Ancient Egypt, Sirius linked to the Goddess Isis, who was revered for flooding the Nile and is associated with fertility and renewal.

The number 8 represents infinite possibility for abundance. Add to which August is the 8th month of the year; the 8th day of that month is believed to be super charged with this creation energy.

​This alignment creates a portal through which we receive potent messages in the form of Light Codes. These can be anything from divine downloads, sudden flashes of inspiration or awareness, a serendipitous meeting, ethereal messages and energetic activations. Be open to tuning into, feeling and receiving this great surge and expansion of high energy.

Notice the fire in your soul for the thing that you want, the fears that are holding you back from being seen (or truly seeing yourself) and remember that you have the capacity to withstand so much more than you believe you can.

I love to work with my Aurora Quartz or Golden Lemurian crystal at this time, but a favourite Clear Quartz point or sunny Citrine, will more than suffice for powerful manifestation. The Use them to draw a Lemniscate symbol (♾️) for more powerful results.

Lughnasadh or Lammas is the cross-quarter festival marking the midpoint between Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox. This sacred pause is where the Wheel of the Year begins to tip slowly toward the dark, but for now we are still standing in the golden light. Here the Goddess aspects the Harvest Mother while the Green Man steps out as John Barleycorn.

ℂℝ𝕐𝕊𝕋𝔸𝕃𝕊 …..
Set your Altar or sacred space up with the colours of yellow, gold, green and orange and candles of the same. Flowers can be meadowsweet and sunflowers plus any fallen nuts and heads of grain. Some basic go-to’s are Citrine and Carnelian but let’s look a bit deeper.

RED JASPER - lends strength and energy to the physical, so it’s great for boosting the metabolism. Placed under your pillow an help you recall dreams. As a stone of the root chakra it aids grounding, meditation and supports the gentle awakening of Kundalini energy. This strongly protective stone can help drive away unwelcome energies.

PIETERSITE - Pietersite is characterised by its distinctive swirls or streaks of gold or orange, due to the crocidolite. It is only found in Henan Province, China (more brown appearance) and Namibia, South Africa (more blue). It’s often known as the Tempest Stone because of its stormy appearance. This stormy energy purges old patterns from the body, mind and spirit whilst imparting insight and bolstering confidence so we embrace change like we embrace the storm. It reminds us of the innate connection between the self and the Universe.

SHUNGITE - is a dynamic grounding stone that helps to filter out the unnecessary so we can focus on the important. Shungite works in a similar way in water by catalysing purification and restoring balance and structure. It is protective on many levels and can be used to prevent disruptions of your life path from varying sources. Meditation with Shungite encourages decisions that help you fulfil your purpose here on Earth.

PYRITE - also known as ‘fool’s gold’ gets its name from ‘oyr’, the Greek word meaning fire. It has strong uses for protection amulets, abundance, healing and adornments. Magickally it also helps break down and release owl patterns, cleanses, helps with perseverance and confidence.

𝔸ℂ𝕋𝕀𝕍𝕀𝕋𝕀𝔼𝕊 …..
At Lughnasadh, Nature’s generosity begins to fill our shelves and pantries, we also begin to see country fairs popping up. Since very ancient times, across the swaths of the Northern Hemisphere that are still deeply agrarian, Lughnasadh has been an especially merry celebration featuring harvest dances, fêtes, and feasting. People who live close to the land assemble with bonfires, music, matchmaking, games, and food contests.

BAKE - bread or a fruit pie. Inscribe sigils before baking and share with friends and family. Always dedicate the first slice as an offering

COLLECT - sunflowers and kids go hand in hand. Sunflowers are emblems of Lughnasadh so collect and dry them in the sun, ready for next year's planting. Consider giving them as gifts at Samhain or Yule.

CREATE - the men cutting the corn would save a few stalks for themselves, created to wear on their jacket at the harvest dance. Do check out YouTube for lots of helpful videos to get you creating in no time.

FEAST - our ancestors celebrated nearly every holiday with large feasts. Invite friends and family over and focus on recently harvested food - corn cobs, salads, veggies, home made bread and pies etc. Drink berry cordials and juices for the kids, beer and cider for the grownups.

GET OUTSIDE - Yesterday, once the sea mist cleared the dogs and I headed out for a lunchtime walk here in the Cornish countryside with the smell of sea salt just over the burrows to wend our way home through fields of golden barley.
