A partial solar eclipse will be visible across the UK on Wednesday 12 August 2026. It's a rare and exciting event, but it's important to watch it safely.

Looking directly at the Sun, even during an eclipse or through cloud cover, can cause permanent eye damage. Ordinary sunglasses are not safe for viewing an eclipse.

If you're planning to watch the eclipse:

• Use certified eclipse glasses that meet the ISO 12312-2 safety standard
• Or try indirect viewing methods such as a pinhole projector, a colander, or viewing sunlight through gaps in tree leaves
• Never look directly at the Sun without proper protection

Enjoy this spectacular event safely and protect your eyesight.

For those who were involved in our meeting with Salcey Forest - Forestry England please register your interest for a spot at their first Dementia Friendly walk. Spaces are limited and given your involvement it would be great to see you there!

We're developing Dementia-Friendly walks at Salcey Forest and would love for you to be part of the journey.

Our first walk is on Wednesday 9th September, from 10.30am - 12.30pm. This guided walk will begin and end at Grounds Cafe, with refreshments available at the end of the walk.

We're planning a gentle, accessible walk and we will shape the future sessions through your feedback.

A great afternoon was had today at Memory Lane Cafe. Thanks to Jo and Dave from the fraud team at Northamptonshire Police for their time and for giving a talk on cyber security, doorstep scams & how we can protect ourselves and eachother.

Our wonderful friend Janet Steeper made the most beautiful cakes for us all 💙

Usual thanks to the lovely Angela Kilby and Barbara Fordrey for being on tea making duties.. and a big warm welcome to all the newbies that came along today! Same time next week! Kelly 🫶 x
