Visiting Angels have a much higher retention rate of staff than the industry average which helps to ensure continuity and consistency of care for our clients. Our passion is to increase standards within adult social care and raise the status of working in care, to be the vitally important and fulfilling role that it most certainly is. This means that we place the the well-being of our carers first. The question "What will this mean for our carers?" is the most important factor in any business decision made. If a decision is not in the best interests of our staff then we will not implement it. Visiting Angels' pay is higher; we pay travel time and a mileage allowance for using your own car; we guarantee a 5% pay increase each year to reward loyalty; provide full initial paid face to face training, rather than online courses - the Visiting Angels Academy; we have a minimum of one hour visits at the key times in a client's day; we ensure, wherever possible, that you support and care for the same clients; provide a company mobile phone; valet your car each 6 months and a car service each year; your birthday off work; ongoing personal development plans and CPD which makes sure that we allow people to develop. It is about our work culture and workplace environment that puts the wellbeing of our staff and clients at the forefront of what we do: it is about making the difference. ☀️ Beat the Heat: Summer Safety Tips for Seniors ☀️

As we get older, our bodies can become less able to recognise when we’re overheating. Certain health conditions and communication difficulties can also make older adults more vulnerable during hot weather.

Heat-related illnesses can range from mild symptoms such as cramps and dizziness to serious conditions like heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

💙 Tips to Stay Safe and Cool This Summer:

✅ Avoid direct sunlight and excessive heat whenever possible
✅ Keep blinds, curtains, and windows closed during the hottest part of the day
✅ Open windows and doors only when it is cooler outside than indoors
✅ Limit activities between 11am and 4pm when temperatures are highest
✅ Eat light meals and avoid excessive fats, sugars, and alcohol
✅ Wear loose-fitting, lightweight clothing
✅ Stay in the coolest part of your home and use fans or air conditioning where available
✅ Reduce unnecessary use of lights and heat-generating appliances during the day
✅ Apply cool, damp towels to your wrists, neck, or forehead to help lower body temperature
✅ Drink plenty of water regularly, even if you don’t feel thirsty
