It's the middle of Summer β˜€οΈ

The season of longer days, sunshine... and doing more.

But what if your body is quietly asking for the opposite?

Not more doing, but...

More stillness.

More space.

More YOU.

Nature reminds us that Summer and Winter exist in relationship. Fire and Water. Yang and Yin. We need both.

When we spend too long living in the energy of constant doing, giving and striving, it's easy to feel depleted, disconnected and overwhelmed.

That's why I'm opening The Winter Invitation - a gentle 4-week journey into Inner Winter to help you reconnect with your body, learn its language and begin living body-led rather than stress-led.

We begin next Tuesday, 28th July at 7.30pm.

Investment: Β£49, with a community-supported sliding scale from Β£21 for anyone who needs it.

If you're feeling that quiet pull - or desperate need! πŸ˜… - to return to yourself, comment "WINTER" below or send me a message and I'll send you all the details ❄️

Needing some respite from the summer heat? 🌞πŸ”₯

Fancy taking a plunge into Winter instead? β„οΈβ˜ƒοΈ

It's summer 🌞

It's busy πŸ₯³ 🌴🍹

There's so much going on and, it seems, there's more time to do more 😜!!!

Longer days, sunshine, holidays, gatherings, sweet treats, wine, fun πŸ’ƒ πŸ•Ί

And yet, all that "joy" can come at a cost πŸ™„

Constantly on the go.
Resisting slowing down.
Putting yourself last.
Choosing doing over being.

"I'll get everything done first... then I'll rest."

But you never do. Or so called β€œrest” is opening a bottle of wine and vegging in front of the TV.

You think you're relaxing, but you're not. You've simply moved from one distraction to another.

There's no OFF switch.

You wake up the next morning and it's Groundhog Day.

Get dressed.
Keep going.
The sun's out.
It'll be alright.

But it ISN'T πŸ˜”

You're TIRED. Emotions are all over the place. You're frustrated because you did β€œit” again, and you know you need to take better care of yourself, but you just can't seem to get off the merry-go-round.

And part of you doesn't even want to.

Because it's Summer πŸ’ƒπŸΉπŸ˜œ

You've waited for this πŸ™Œ

The light. The warmth. The lazy, hazy evenings. The freedom. The romance of it all.

But somehow something is missing. Some kind of connection inside, that you just can't seem to touch.

All of life seems to be happening around you. It's surreal, even, like you're having some kind of out-of-body experience. You're here but you're not here.

And while you're being the life and soul of everyone else's experience, there's no life or soul in your own πŸ₯Ί

You tell yourself you should be enjoying it. That you should be making the most of it.

You should be Summer!! 😎

But deep down what you're really craving is Winter πŸ™

Not the season.

The stillness.
The pause.
The space to hear yourself again.
To reconnect with your body.
To take care of you the way you want to.
To return to yourself again ❀️

I feel this too.

And so the greatest gift we can give ourselves - right now, even in the height of Summer - is permission to enter Winter 🌚

All you need to do is type Winter below and I'll send you the details for my Inner Winter Journey.Β

One conversation from Sunday's Summer Fete got me thinking..

"That's it. That's Intuology."

A lovely lady came for Facework, but before we began she was apprehensive.

She was worried about the language barrier.

What if I couldn't understand her?
What if she couldn't understand me?

I smiled. I knew:

"The body will speak."

Nature has its own language.

A language beyond words.
A language felt through sensation, expression, emotion.

Very little needed to be said. Her body relaxed.

She felt understood.
Not because we'd found the right words
But because we'd met through a different language.

It stayed with me afterwards because I realised something.

Don't we all long to be seen, heard and understood?

Yet while we spend so much energy hoping someone else will understand us how often do we truly understand ourselves?

Our body has been speaking to us our whole life.

Through sensations. Through emotions.
Through tension.
Through ease.

Through the quiet whispers we've learned to ignore.

Perhaps the first language barrier isn't between ourselves and another person.

Perhaps it's between ourselves and our own body.

And what if learning that language changes everything?

✨

It feels especially meaningful now at the New Moon.

When the moon disappears from view, nature isn't empty.
She's preparing.
Growing something unseen.

Maybe this is an invitation to do the same.

To slow down.
To listen.
To remember the language you've never truly lost.

I'm opening something very soon for those who feel ready to begin that journey.

If this resonates, leave me a πŸŒ‘ below and I'll send you the details.

Just for the record, I don't do Face Yoga πŸ€ΈπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

If I had a pound for every time someone asked me how my face yoga thing was going I'd be a millionaire 🀣🀣🀣

I don't teach face yoga.

And it's not really facial reflexology either.

Those are wonderful disciplines, but they're not what I do.

I use the face as a way back into relationship with the body.

Because the face is constantly reflecting what's happening beneath the surface.

Not so I can diagnose you.
Not so I can 'fix' your wrinkles.
But so you can begin listening to yourself again.

That's what the Facework piece of Intuology is.

I help women trust themselves again by using the face to reconnect with the wisdom of their body πŸ™

And men too! 😍😍

"It's Summer. I should be happy, motivated and full of energy. Why am I not? What's wrong with me?"

That's a line from a member's reflection I received on my journal share this week and it speaks volumes!

The problem isn't that something is wrong with us. The problem is that we've been taught to expect ourselves to be linear. To fit ourselves into everyone else's schedules, environments, expectations and pace, whilst forgetting that we have our own.

This is the work I do. Not to encourage us to stop taking care of our families or stop going to work simply because we don't feel like it, but to flip the narrative.

To shift our perspective inward. To notice what is occurring within us and what is being reflected around us. To tune into our own inner seasons and meet each one. Yes, even Autumn. Even Winter. And even when it's Summer!!!

Because when we begin to understand our own rhythms we can be led by them instead of against ourselves.

That doesn't mean life suddenly becomes easier, but it becomes less stressful because we're moving with our own unique fluctuations instead of constantly resisting them.

The beautiful irony is that Winter can't exist without Summer.

So if summer so far is getting a little too much then sprinkle a little winter on it.

Not to put the fire out, but to bring it back into balance πŸ™β€οΈ

Where was I last week?

That's the question I asked myself in meditation today.

Not where was I in terms of location, but more to do with me figuring out where the bloody hell I've been within myself πŸ€ͺ lol

It was interesting to reflect as it's easy to get caught up in what's going on around you and misinterpret, or completely miss, what's going on inside you.

What I noticed was that despite the summer vibes, and the impending full moon, I was feeling much more like autumn πŸ‚

Reflecting on this really helped me to orient myself and appreciate once again that our inner and outer landscapes don't always need to match each other.

In fact it'd be pretty boring if they did.

Instead of wondering what might be wrong, I gained new Intel and got to strengthen my relationship with my body πŸ’ͺ

Our bodies are always communicating. The real practice is learning how to listen, rather than assuming something needs fixing.

I wrote about this in my latest blog, along with some reflections on turning 50 and navigating a changing feminine landscape along with the seasons.

If any of that resonates, I'd love you to have a read here πŸ‘‰ on my blog page : https://www.juliegrint.com/post/where-was-i-last-week

Now the full moon is here its a, great time to reflect on where you've been, so you can bring to light where you are now, and expand into who you are becoming more of πŸ™

Where have you been lately?

Full Moon Blessings πŸŒ•β€οΈ

I've always found the summer solstice fascinating 🌻

For months we've been moving towards it - having more daylight, lighter mornings and longer evenings -

and then, when we reach the longest day of the year, the days begin getting shorter again.

There's something wonderfully ironic about that to me.

That's because nature never stands still 🌍 Never reaches a destination and stays there.

She's constantly moving, constantly changing, constantly transitioning.

Which makes me wonder -

How much easier would life feel if we stopped expecting ourselves to remain the same all the time? πŸ€”

Expecting ourselves to have the same energy, the same motivation, the same needs, the same capacity.

Even the same habits and routines, the things we do day in day out.

Our bodies are constantly changing too!

🌱 Some days asking for movement.
πŸ”οΈ Some days asking for rest.
🌻 Some days asking us to get out there and express ourselves.
πŸ‚ Other days asking us to slow down and listen.

And perhaps that's where we sometimes get ourselves into trouble. πŸ™„

When summer arrives, it can be easy to assume we're supposed to feel summery too.

Somehow we should have more energy.
More motivation.
Be doing more.
Going out more.

But maybe that's not the invitation at all.

Maybe the invitation is simply to notice.

To notice what's happening around us.
To notice what's happening within us.

And to recognise that no matter what season is unfolding outside, we can learn to move with the seasons unfolding within us too.

Not forcing ourselves to fit the season, but allowing the season to help us better understand ourselves πŸ™

Happy Solstice β˜€οΈ

P. S. and ☝️ 1st Quarter blessings too! πŸŒ“ 🌱 πŸ˜‰
