INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S DAY

As it is the football World Cup year, we decided that we would celebrate this day with a sporting themed event.
Staff and their children were invited to join the residents for some games and socialising in our garden. It was a lovely afternoon enjoyed by all with the weather being very kind to us.

This week our residents got together to make a delicious bread and butter pudding.
Bread and butter pudding is a quintessentially British dessert dating back to the 11th century. Originally created as a frugal way to utilize stale bread to prevent food waste, it evolved into a beloved classic combining buttered bread, sweet custard, spices, and dried fruit.

Residents took a trip on the minibus bus last week to Delapre Abbey. They enjoyed a drink at the cafe and a look around the charity shop. One of our ladies hadn't been out and about since November as she had been unwell. She said she thoroughly enjoyed herself.
