Welcome to 24 Days to Believable Affirmations.
Today is Day 14 – Building Confidence One Step At A Time.

We have reached the end of Week 2, so let us bring everything together.
We have looked at creating believable affirmations, asking empowering questions, looking for evidence, celebrating tiny wins, taking action and deliberately directing your attention.

When you put these together, something begins to happen.
You start creating experiences that support a new belief.
And confidence can grow from those experiences.
You do not have to wake up tomorrow as a completely different person. You can build confidence one step at a time.

Take one small action towards something you want. Notice what happens. That becomes evidence.

The evidence strengthens your belief, and that stronger belief allows you to take another step.

More action. More evidence. A stronger belief.

That is the bridge.
You are not trying to leap from where you are to where you want to be. You are building the bridge between the two, one believable step at a time.

Tomorrow, I will share another insight from Affirmations Don't Work, my new book, available from the 1st of September on Amazon.

Welcome to 24 Days to Believable Affirmations.
Today is Day 13 - Your Reticular Activating System (RAS)

Have you ever decided you want a particular car and suddenly started seeing that car everywhere?

It is probably not because everyone suddenly bought one. You simply started noticing something that was already around you.

This is where your Reticular Activating System, or RAS, comes in. Your RAS helps your brain filter the enormous amount of information you encounter every day and decides what deserves your attention.

This is one reason clear affirmations and supporting questions can be so useful.
When you repeatedly focus your attention on something that matters to you, you can become more aware of related information, opportunities and possibilities.

If your focus is on confidence, you may start noticing opportunities to practise it.
If your focus is on money, you may notice ideas or opportunities you had previously overlooked.

It is not magic. It is about attention.

Your brain cannot notice everything. So start being intentional about where you focus your attention, and your brain will start to notice things you had previously been overlooking.

Tomorrow, I will share another insight from my new book, Affirmations Don't Work, available to purchase from the 1st of September on Amazon.

Welcome to 24 Days to Believable Affirmations.
Today is Day 12 – Why Action Matters.

Here is something I really want you to remember: affirmations are not a substitute for action.
You can say, “I am confident” one hundred times a day, but if you never give yourself the opportunity to experience confidence, what evidence does your brain have?

Action gives your affirmation somewhere to go.

If your affirmation is about confidence, speak up in a meeting. If it is about money, review your finances or look for a new opportunity. If it is about health, go for a walk. If it is about your dream, spend twenty minutes working towards it.

Your action does not have to be enormous. Small actions are often easier to repeat.
Your affirmation creates the direction.
Your question opens your mind to possibilities.
Your action creates experience.
And your experience can become evidence.
That is how your Bridge Belief begins to strengthen.

So do not ask, “What massive thing can I do today?”
Ask yourself:
“What is one small action I can take that supports the person I am becoming?”
Then go and do it.

Tomorrow, I will share another insight from Affirmations Don't Work as we count down to publication day.

Welcome to 24 Days to Believable Affirmations.
Today is Day 11 – Celebrating Tiny Wins.

How often do you achieve something and immediately move on to the next thing?
You finally do something you have been putting off, make a better choice, speak up for yourself or take one small step towards your goal. And then think, “Well, that was nothing.”

Actually, it was something. It was a tiny win, and tiny wins matter.

When you acknowledge your progress, you give yourself evidence that you are capable of change. This is an important part of building a new belief. You do not have to wait for the big breakthrough.

If your Bridge Belief Affirmation is about confidence, celebrate the moment you do something your old self might have avoided.

If it is about money, celebrate making one better financial decision.
If it is about taking action, celebrate taking that first step.

The goal is not perfection. The goal is progress.

So today, ask yourself:
“What tiny win can I acknowledge that I might normally overlook?”
You might be surprised by how much you have already achieved.

Tomorrow, I will share another insight from my new book, Affirmations Don't Work, available from Amazon on the 1st of September.

Welcome to 24 Days to Believable Affirmations. Today is Day 10 – Looking For Evidence.

Today, we are talking about evidence.

If you want a belief to become stronger, start looking for evidence that supports it.
And I do not mean waiting for something enormous to happen.
The evidence can be tiny.

If your affirmation is, “I am becoming more confident”, notice the moment you speak up, you make a decision, you try something new or you handle a situation differently.

That is evidence.

If your affirmation is about money, notice when you save money, receive money, spot an opportunity, make a better financial decision or feel more confident managing what you already have.

That is evidence too.

Your job is not to wait until your entire life has changed before you acknowledge progress.

Your job is to start noticing what is already changing.

This is why I encourage you to keep a record of your evidence.

Because when you deliberately look for evidence, you begin to see progress that you might have otherwise overlooked. And what you notice, you can build upon.

Tomorrow, I will share another insight from “Affirmations Don't Work” – my new book which will be available on the 1st of September from Amazon.
