Tweaked my lower back yesterday. Nothing major, just a bit sore today.
Here’s the truth: it doesn’t matter how much you know about the body, how fit you are, or what you do for a living — niggles and injuries can catch anyone off guard. Therapists, athletes, weekend gym-goers, people who’ve never trained a day in their life. Nobody’s exempt.
Bodies aren’t perfect machines. Sometimes things just go a bit wrong, even when you’ve done nothing “wrong” at all.
What actually makes a difference is what happens next — understanding what’s going on, moving in the right way, and knowing when something needs proper attention versus when it’ll settle with time.
Right now, I’m keeping things simple — nothing intense, just gentle movement to keep things mobile without aggravating it. Swipe through to see what I’m doing 👉
Pelvic tilt — flatten your lower back into the surface, hold 1-2 seconds, release. 10-15 reps, nice and slow.
Bridge — squeeze your glutes and lift your hips, pause at the top, lower slowly. 10 reps, controlled — this isn’t about height, it’s about control.
Dynamic lumbar rotation — lying on your back, knees bent together, gently rock your knees side to side within a pain-free range. 10 reps each side, slow and controlled.
So if you’re dealing with something similar right now, know this: it’s completely normal, and there’s usually a lot that can be done to help.
