10 Top tips to take action ⬇️
Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 is all about Action and for many neurodivergent people, that means small, realistic changes that reduce overcorrection, masking, and burnout.
Here are some simple starting points:
🧭 Lower your baseline
Build life around your variable energy, not just your best days.
⏱ Plan guilt free rest
Schedule rest whether you’ve been productive or not. I promise you, it’s proactive and worthwhile.
🔁 Switch task types
Rotate between social, thinking, admin, and physical tasks. Too much of one type can become overstimulating (especially if it’s social committments).
🧩 Reduce decisions
Repeat meals, routines, and templates where you can.
🔕 Reduce input
Fewer notifications, less noise, less overload. Yes that includes social media!!!
🎭 Drop the mask safely
Find spaces where you don’t have to perform.
🧠 Notice early signs of burnout
Like feeling more irritable, impatient, sensitive, or a bit more overwhelmed than usual.
📚 Understand your brain
Learn your traits so you stop blaming yourself for things you cannot easily change.
🗣 Ask for accommodations
You don’t have to struggle through things unsupported.
😊 Practice self compassion
Remember, you aren’t a broken version of normal, you are perfect version of you.
Start with one thing. That’s enough.
