Hello and welcome!

I've noticed quite a few new faces here recently, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to introduce myself and answer some of the questions I get asked most often.

My name is Sylwia, and I'm the founder of Ear Care Practice, providing professional ear care, ear wax removal and hearing screening across Northampton and the surrounding areas.

If you're new here, here's a little about how I work...

📍 Mondays – Clinic appointments at Duston Sports Centre

🏡 Tuesday to Friday – Mobile home visits across Northampton and nearby areas.

Every appointment includes much more than ear wax removal.

✔ A consultation and discussion about your symptoms.
✔ A thorough ear examination using the Tympa system.
✔ Ear wax removal, where appropriate.
✔ A complimentary hearing screening after treatment, helping you better understand your hearing.

One thing that's important to know... I don't sell hearing aids.
That means there's no sales pressure and no hidden agenda.

If I believe you don't need treatment, I'll tell you.
If I think you would benefit from seeing your GP or an audiologist, I'll tell you that too.

My advice will always be based on what's best for you, not on selling a product or service.

If I notice anything that concerns me, I can discuss it with the TympaHealth Clinical Team and provide you with a report to share with your GP if appropriate.

As an independent practitioner, I also try to be as flexible as possible.

My usual clinic hours are Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, but if you have an urgent problem, I'll always do my best to help.

One thing I always ask myself before making a recommendation is:

"What would I recommend if this was my own mum, dad or someone I love?"

That's the standard of care I want every patient to receive.

I think I have a problem...

I genuinely love what I do, and I have to admit... I find removing ear wax strangely satisfying 🤭😜

But the best part? Seeing the relief and smile on my patients' faces is priceless. 🤍

Occupational hazard? Probably. 😅

Can you help me?

As part of my ongoing professional development, I need to complete a clinical revalidation.

I'm looking for three patients who would be happy for their appointment to be used for assessment purposes.

What does this mean?

✔ Your appointment will be carried out exactly as normal.
✔ I'll simply record a few short clinical videos and images of the procedure.
✔ Everything will be reviewed confidentially as part of my professional assessment.

Your care, comfort and privacy will remain my priority throughout.

As a thank you for helping me, you'll receive £15 off your appointment.

Revalidation appointments will take place in clinic on Monday, 10th of August.

Reality: ✔ "That was much easier than I expected."

Expectation: ❌ "I just want my ears cleaned."
Reality: ✔ "Wow... I can actually see inside my own ears!"

Expectation: ❌ "There won't be much wax."
Reality: ✔ "I had no idea there was that much!"

Sometimes the cause of blocked ears or changes in hearing isn't obvious from the outside.

That's why every appointment includes a thorough examination using a digital otoscope, allowing me to see inside the ear canal in detail.

It helps me assess what's really going on before recommending the most appropriate treatment.

Whether it's ear wax, irritation or something that needs further attention, a careful assessment always comes first.

Because the right care starts with seeing the full picture.
