Today our Mobile Jolly Trolly has been a karaoke machine, a movie screen, and reminiscence screen, and a games machine.

We have reminisced about life in the 1950s and 1960s, life in Britain and life in wales, we have sang whelsh national anthems for our Welsh Irish gentleman and watched the Beetles through the 60s for another one of our gentleman who’s a massive beetles fan.

Some of our gentleman have enjoyed laughing at Laurel and Hardy and we had a period of reminiscence as we looked at life in Britain remembering tv shows, drinks, transport and fashion.

The Jolly Trolly is such a fantastic was to create special moments one gentleman told me all about life in the 60s how he used to get the bus because buses where everywhere and how people were always out dancing, he shared how he used to watch Laurel and Hardy but he also liked Porridge and Step Toe and sons.

A lovely afternoon hearing and sharing stories.

This afternoon we had the wonderful Sandra Currie join us on Queen Elizabeth.

Sandra is such a beautiful singer and brings so much bouncy joy and energy to the residents at Kitwood House.
Today we had everyone singing along to some Doris Day, Cliff Richard’s and Frank Sinatra to name a few.
Singing and listening to music is such a joyous thing and we just love it at Kitwood House.

Wellbeing Lead Annette here!

I was walking through Queen Elizabeth, when one of our lady residents asked if she could do some flower arrangements.

I said yes and went and got some beautiful artificial flowers and some vases.

We then sat together making beautiful displays.
The lady said she just loves flowers and they makes her feel that happy she could cry.

Once we had finished we put them around the unit for everyone to see.

She couldn't get over how wonderful they looked.

We then sat together chatting, she told me about her dad and mother and how she wished they were still around as she missed them everyday. She said they would have loved the flowers.

Little things we do mean alot to our residents, and I just loved listening to her stories and the memories she shared with me.

What fun our gentlemen have been having!

Karolina and the care team have been getting the gents playing a lot of different sports games like Cricket, bowling and basketball.

The gents got very competitive and the unit was buzzing with the gents laughing and shouting and all cheering each other on.

Its always fantastic seeing our residents enjoying themselves.
